Robins have been very active here the last couple of weeks. Seeing tulips popping up and a few other perennials. We did get some snow yesterday but that is typical this time of year.

The first crocus bloomed yesterday!
In memory of Peter- one of his poems
surprise
First the storms of winter woke us,
Then the rains came down to soak us,
And now, before the eye can focus,
Crocus!

A lot of robins out there today, and a lot of other signs of spring. But mostly, that temperature!

First dandelion bloom. Just one so far in the entire yard. Reminds me that I'm to make dandelion jelly for a presentation next month.

I've got a ring of crocus planted in the grass around a fruit tree. When I planted them years ago, I was hoping for some purple ones, but the majority were white, with a few yellow. This year, one purple one has sprung up, which surprised me. Is this something in the genetic profile of crocus, that some offspring can be a different color?

The North Decorah nest just hatched the second eaglet…it’s still drying. Just when I checked in, it was feeding time for the first one. They are so stinking cute when so young. I’ve lost track of where the pair from the hatchery nest finally set up shop. The last time I looked, a pair was owls was checking it out.

Update…the owls didn’t win/take the nest. There’s a Canada goose in the nest with two eggs so far.
