No watering today. Mother Nature delivered a 2 inch rainfall overnight. It was a noisy one with lots of lightening, but no damage from wind. Gotta be grateful when the delivery is reasonably gentle.

I got so little rain overnight that nothing registered, and the very little bit that showed up on my car, wasn't enough to even wet the concrete. Wasn't supposed to get over 75° today, but it is 77° already, and the humidity is back up to 70%. Supposed to rain again, but it will probably miss again.

Today's high was only 75º with lots of dark clouds and thunder at one point. But it skirted around us. Nary a drop of rain. Perfect working-in-the-gardens weather. Last night's low was down to 46º. I'm never ready for this shift. I remind myself that in the spring , when it gets up to the 40s as night time lows, I'm ecstatic. It doesn't work. I'm still bummed.

A front came through overnight - not enough help the plants much (only .06" rain), and only down to 69°, but the humidity came WAY down finally! At 11 am it was still only 73°, and 48% humidity, with sustained winds at 14 mph, and gusts in the 20s. Still no rain in the forecasts, until next Saturday, which means nothing, of course, but I like all those highs in the 70s, and lows in the high 50s, in this area.

75* and soft sunshine. 10 day forecast suggests more of the same with little chance of rain.

The next three days of rain will reward us with 3 days of beautiful weather. A cool front will bring drier air and a low one morning of
59 degrees!
Pretty soon everyone will be complaining about how cold it is instead of how hot it is! lol. We're not Phoenix or anything, but we sure have had some sweltering days this season.

The last month we've had nicely mild temps, high 70, low/mid 80s, and nicely cool at night. Thanks in part to the coastal marine layer that gets sucked in when it's hot inland. But the coming week it's supposed to get warmer. High 80 and low 90s. Not horrible, but warmer than it has been. Hope it stays cool at night. We usually get some sort of heat-wave in Sept. No rain of course.

Weather has been perfect here since Saturday, cool nights and mild days with low humidity. Could use some rain, doesn't look promising.

We still need rain badly. I noticed a local farm pond over the weekend that is nothing but a puddle and that inch of rain last week didn't come close to pulling us out of the drought. Temperatures have been nice though. Cool nights and temps in the upper 70s/low 80s for the most part. Quite a relief from the 98° a week ago. Also sad to see that a few counties in the western part of the state have now been upgraded to exceptional drought status.

We were on a warming trend. Last night's low only dropped to 50º, after 4 nights in the low to mid 40s.. Today's high was 79º and then a serious thunderstorm moved in. It rained hard for about 1/2 hour and we got 1/2 inch. Temp dropped dramatically and it is currently 56º at 7:20pm. I hope it stays in the 50s tonight.

Our usual Sept heatwave has arrived. Up to 98 yesterday, and the prediction is for 100 today, and high 90s the next few days. Over the night the temps fluctuated between 93 and 75, somewhat wildly. The backyard weather station across the street graphs it all.
I've watered this morning. The plants look fine (esp the ripening tomatoes), and I'm hoping this won't trigger the celery into bolting. When the heat is over, it will be time to plant Iceland Poppy and Snapdragon seed for winter blooming. Last year I planted way too early, and it was a disaster.
