Predicted high today: 58, low 30 (after an 8" snow dump last weekend. Too weird. At the same time I am a happy camper. I'm going to do some minor flower bed clean up today. The season has begun!!

You wouldn't be working in any flower beds at my house today. They are covered with ankle deep snow which has a frozen crust on the top.
In addition to that it is 25 degrees with a brutal wind blowing!

I can only work on a south facing bed against the house where the snow is all melted and the mud has dried out.
25 and wind? yikes. Sounds miserable.

Very strong winds here today. Some sun, but daytime temps so far haven't breached 30 & I don't expect them to get any higher at this point (2:30 p.m.). Tonight temps in the mid to low teens, so guess I'll be dragging all my little bonsai trees inside in a few hours.

The older chickens are turning in earlier; they'd rather be inside. Freezing, crunchy snow out. I don't know how I managed to exit our school lot- it's solid ice. Predicting more snow this weekend. Don't know why I'm complaining. It's not like it's July.

9 degrees here. The snow we have is so frozen it's like powder. Supposed to drop below zero tonight. I like that statement GD. Your right it's not July.

Got up to 84 today which is really too warm for this time of year. Back to mid 70's which is nicer. Managed to plant a couple of cherry trees and an apricot.

Your 84 will be our 62 in a couple of days (it's coming our way)... which is really too warm for here in February

We're still battling the results of the winter storm which dumped a foot or more of snow in various areas on Sunday. The temps sometimes laboriously climb up into the 20's, but also plunge down into the single digits with negative wind chills. It's getting to be so cold I wear 2 sweat shirts to keep warm! My next sewing projects are going to be to collect all the old sweat shirts and pants that have become worn out, save the good portions, perhaps line them with flannel, and make some leotards of sweat shirt material. I can see why people wore long underwear during frigid months!
Can anyone imagine how tough it must have been to live in houses that didn't central heat? I'm so glad progress has brought us that comfort!
Still, it's beautiful in the back yard with snow covering everything and the large trees providing shadows under the right conditions. The friendly critters are nowhere to be seen on those days when the wind chills plunge downward, but I saw tracks this morning of a little critter which apparently crossed the yard leisurely on its way to explore, perhaps look for a tasty treat, or even just see if any of its friends were outside in this bitter weather.

We are COLD for us this morning mainly due to the wind. It was 33º but that wind was making it feel like it was in the 20's! Supposed to warm up into the 60's this afternoon...currently 40º but still feels colder.
ETA...we can ask Steve to "pin" this thread and it will stay at the top and we can add to it when we want.

41 degrees right now. ..headed for a high of 45. The sun is shining really nicely and the snow is doing a little melting.
I'm thinking about putting my onion/leek babies out on the deck for an hour or two of sunshine.

Nice sunny day here 60 degrees with a breeze. Its drying out the garden plot. I am about ready to go put in some spinach seed. I know its too early. About March 5 is the time to start planting the early stuff here. This nice weather is making me want to get going though. Not much snow here this winter. We did have white ground for Christmas, but the ground has been bare since January 1. Rather strange since we are usually up to our knees in snow this time of year.

I think that we are having more snow that you are this year James. My entire yard is covered at least 4 inches deep and there are piles everywhere from plowing and from drifting.
