We had a record high of 64 today!!!! Low is predicted to be 35. If I'm not careful I'll be out there acting like it is April Patience is trying sometimes.

Time to get back to business which is tending to garden stuff....just came in from shoveling the driveway, about 3" so it wasn't so bad...resting my back...it's getting to be tiring because over the last 3 weeks it seems to be an almost every other day occurrence. And more tonight...but at least I can get out to the store and will probably go for a walk in a little bit at one of the malls. Temps are in the 20's.

We made it up over 70º this afternoon! It is great out there and you can even sweat!
But only a couple more days until we have nights below freezing again! :(

We have another day off!! That always excites me that I can spend more time thinking about the garden and doing something for it, like testing seed or looking at more catalogs...ordered more flower seed packets.
But at this rate it is cutting into that vacation time at the end of the school year when I was considering travel. :(

Continuing with record highs in the mid 60's. (nights in the 30's) I keep whispering to fruit trees and lilacs--"Go back to sleep. Not now. It's too early"

We have had the weirdest weather around here in the past 36 hours or so. Yesterday we were supposed to have temps in the high 40's with rain. We DID have temps in the 40's, but not a drop of precipitation all day/night, although it's still overcast this morning. However, could not believe receiving news items this morning reporting more than a dozen schools between 30-60 minutes north of us either closed or opening late due to SNOW!! How we managed to dodge such a close bullet is anyone's guess.

We didn't dodge anything here. We got freezing rain and everything is covered by a glaze of ice since yesterday afternoon. Hubby fell and wrenched his back just walking out to the chicken coop. It's supposed to melt by late morning today.

This morning was horrible driving with slow cluttered streets, hi way was ok, cars can't park near the curb cuz snow is there. Makes it difficult for a bus to get through without slipping into it or bumping a mirror. I got 30 minutes behind picking up kids...thought this morning would never end. But I am here to say it did...to come home and see the plow left a present at the end of the driveway....grrrr! >:( So after coffee, that will be taken care of. More snow maybe Thursday and cold temps after that of - degrees and maybe to the teens. I am dreaming' SPRING! Sorry about ur hubby, BR...hope he gets better soon.

Thanks you guys, he went to bed early last night and woke up feeling just a little stiff but otherwise OK. Now I just looked at the weather prediction for the weekend and it is supposed to snow again!
We don't get a lot at one time, just enough to make it miserable.

Surf report: Alright dudes and dudettes, a high pressure system is expected to push northeasterly off the Pacific where it will confront the low out of the northwest creating Santa Ana winds across the Southland. Additionally, over the next few days we will have a high surf advisory, 4' to 10' with some sets up to 12'. The offshore winds will clean the wave face and make for peaky conditions but riptides are likely so check local conditions. A small craft advisory will be in effect.
