In a week or so I'll be planting Fall lettuce and radishes, plenty of empty beds now after pulling onions and beets and digging taters.

So many jobs to do... I'll limit today's list to 3 'easy' ones.
- clean leaves on front drive - start pruning the blueberries. It's way late. - put compost on a side bed in front. I watered it well and covered w cardboard last week. It gets great sun in fall/winter.

My main job for today is to get various odd and end seedlings planted out in a totally ready and empty bed. These are various seedlings, some stunted, that are still sitting on a germination table. Some zinnias, cauliflower, cabbage, celosia, bonsai sunflowers, and whatever else I find still alive and hopeful. The chance of rain in my location to water them in from Hilary seems less and less as she appears to be veering more inland with each passing day. But it's now or never for these orphan seedlings.

glad to see that I’m not alone in having plant starts waiting for a home I'd guess most gardeners have some hanger-on-ers near the end of the season. It's the dark underbelly of having a seed-buying addiction.... Also, I'd much rather have too many seedlings to plant out, using only the best, plus holding on to a few emergency replacements, or give-aways. Having too few plants to use is so confining. The left-overs this year are luckier than most years.

Weeds have been an ongoing chore especially with our cool, wet spring followed by the heat. But I am also just enjoying things too, love to see all of the bright yellow blooms each morning from the squash and pumpkins and the bees visiting the blooms too.
