So far the predicted heavy rains have left us with very little. A shower here and there that really doesn't amount to much and a total of 3/8" in the last 24 hours.
One of the mountain towns is having water hauled in as their damn and reservoir is the lowest it's been in 60 years. I was amazed that our water bill was only $30 higher than usual considering how much I've been watering.

Though no rain came with it yet, around 6:30 pm it got very windy, and the temp dropped 5°, so far. I'm hearing thunder now, so I assume it's coming, question is, how much.
And now, 7:50 pm, the temp has dropped all the way to 71° (from 91° when I was out earlier, with a 99° heat index), but still little rain - .13", so far, but more is forecast.

.17" total rain yesterday, and nothing after midnight, so not much here, despite the high winds in the early evening. Had a power outage in the morning; I think that's what woke me up, but it came back on while I was dozing off again. While it is just 76° out there now, it is absolutely disgusting, with 92% humidity @10 am.

Expecting 15-20 inches of rain between today and Thursday. Yikes.

Stay safe, raphanus. I just checked with our daughter…very northern Florida. She says their elevation should keep them dry. And the flood insurance is paid up.

I hope you are spared the worst by Debbie, raphanus. Take care! Not that hot today, but absolutely disgusting humidity. Right now it is 78°, but 89% humidity. So far, I've gotten .24" of rain, over 3 rainfalls, each time increasing the humidity into the 90s. Maybe 83° for the high today, but it felt a lot worse!

104 today. Monsoon thunderstorms called for later in the week. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Today was another disgustingly humid day - 92° and 54% making the HI just over 100°. But while I was out at an appointment, briefly, fortunately, on my way back it rained just enough to to make it worse, not to water the plants! The humidity in my yard was 63%, when I got back, and still 92°, so the HI was close to 107°. When that rain started, I was wondering if the storms they had forecast were coming early, but it wasn't even enough to turn the wipers on for. Except, that is the law, no matter how light the rain.

The last two days have been in the mid 90s. Hubby and I took turns mowing for the first time in six weeks but the heat kept us from getting it finished. We're predicted to get rain from the hurricane later in the week but I'm not holding my breath.

The rain finally got here at about 9:20 pm, and in just over 20 minutes, I had gotten over half an inch, with a lot more coming. The thunder and lightning stopped, so far, so I'll get back to cutting tomatoes for the dehydrator - have almost 5 trays filled, but I move away from the sink, when there's lightning! Temperature down to 80°, probably lower, and more rain now.

I left for a meeting a few miles away and it started raining. By the time I returned home the rain gauge showed nearly 1/2" and both rain barrels are now within an inch of their overflow.
Saw a high of 97° today but the rain this evening cooled it down to 71°.

Cooled down this afternoon and tonight it's below 70. When it's dry, it's too hot to mow, and when it's cool it's too wet.

92º high yesterday (Wednesday) Now 1AM and it's 71º. No wonder I'm restless tonight.

We've been doing the 97-100 degree dance this week. Should be down to 87 by 8 pm. From midnight until dawn is the best, although in the morning, the humidity coupled with a wake up call of 80 at least and your shoes are going to get wet!
Keeping an eye out for the storm systems, as August and September are the most active. A new system is heading in our direction already.
Hope all is well with the people affected by Debby.
