Well, be careful what you wish for!! Between yesterday evening & this morning we ended up with 6" (yes, SIX inches) of rain, & then between just 9 a.m. & 12 noon we got another yet another inch & it's still coming down, albeit a bit lighter. So no watering today, & probably not tomorrow either.

breezygardener, my area barely got 0.3" for the entire month of June, and probably around 0.1" for July so far. Temp was over 103˚F today with 104˚F forecast for tomorrow. I've been having to water every other day. If we got just 10% of the rain you are getting, I would be ecstatic. Do you have a lot of standing water with that much rain? or does it soak in? Your humidity must be horrible...

We just got a fast and furious downpour of 5/10 inch in about 1/2 hour. It's still lightly sprinkling
edited to add: a total of 6/10" for this storm.

pondgardener, do you have to take special precautions for your fish when temps get so high?

binnylou , the pond now is almost covered in lily pads, so that helps and the depth is about 40 inches, with water circulating 24/7. So they are hanging in there so far...

Severe storm watch for us until 0800. Looks like it will be here shortly. Best run out and put away deck chairs. It's soupy humid too.

The usual; hot and humid. Several upcoming days of a good chance of rain, and of course, the slow moving rain disturbance in the Gulf.

Sky got dark around 9am and thunder rumbled in. Drizzled for maybe 5 minutes and done. Sun is out now.

A little bit of rain last week. None predicted for this week and most of next. Put in an order for a new sprinkler to keep things growing.

yikes pondgardener , that's too hot! (and more like Tucson) Do you get to 107º very often?

desertwoman , our all time record is 109˚F, set almost 20 years ago and there have been a few days hitting 107-108˚. The all time record for Colorado is 115˚F, set about a 100 miles east of here, but it doesn't happen too often thankfully. Unfortunately we are looking for another week of 100˚ temperatures, so maybe another record will be broken.

We had heat index of 107* on July 5. Miserable.

We've been pretty much dry for about a month now. This afternoon we had a thunderstorm roll in and I think maybe we got a quart of rain out of it. I have irrigation running but nothing beats a good, soaking rain.

Wicked, WICKED storms here from yesterday evening until midnight - heavy rain again (6-3/8"!!!) combined with hail & strong winds, lightning, & thunder. We lost power for a little while, but some local areas are still without it, & a lot of trees & branches are down. Today - equally wicked heat & humidity. Yuck.
