Oooo-wee! 98 degrees and stifling humidity, heat index of 108. I need gills, it's like breathing water.

It was disgusting today - got to 90°, and dewpoint starting at 73°, eventually down to 68° (probably back up now!). Rained just enough to show some drops on the deck, but that's it. I was already soaked, so it didn't really matter, and it stopped in 5 minutes. When I 'tilled the ground out there, it was very dry and dusty, and hard, except close to areas I was watering. I'll have to do it again, once it moistens up again. Hopefully, the rain won't keep missing this area.

Sometimes it is 'just' a carpet of green, which is beautiful too. We are exclaiming "it's so green!" Not the green like most of you have, but green non the less. Everything is subtle in a high desert environment Wheelgarden , I was thinking of you as we were driving to Albuquerque today on I-25 and I kept saying "it's so green!" (these were taken from our moving car at 80mph) the dark green are piñon trees and are always that color. The ground is usually brown.

I was thinking of you as we were driving to Albuquerque today on I-25 and I kept saying "it's so green!" your green is like our green. Except right now without rain for months already, we've been totally brown for a long time. The chaparral is more of a dark grey/green. Lower hillsides, the green trees are irrigated avos and lemons. It got up to 88 yesterday, but it didn't seem that hot. Low humidity. The coming week prediction is about 80. Pleasant, if it holds.

Yes! We finally got rain! 1.57" here. I was glad I hadn't gotten much rain before the garlic harvest, but it was really getting dry - yesterday, when I 'tilled a section of the garden, it was dry and dusty, except for where there was some moisture from my squash row, but not much! Yesterday, while I was out in the garden, it rained just enough to notice, but didn't register on the guage. This morning it was raining, when I was going to go to Aldi, just before 9 am, and I put it off until tomorrow - nothing I need that bad to go out in that. Humidity is still 90%, so despite the 73° out, it's still disgusting!

Wow, it's already been up to 94, and it's not even 1 pm yet. Unexpected.

It only got to 82° here, but very humid. Still, I mowed my lawn, and did some more things outside, as it is supposed to get to 90° again tomorrow, with high humidity, and the grass is growing, with that rain that finally came!

About a half inch of rain today with more predicted for tomorrow. Hopefully it comes slow so we get the full benefit.

For all the threats/promises of continual rain, our rain gauge has almost nothing to report. Everything is wet…good weed pulling time, but still no measurable rainfall. Just a dribble in the bottom of the gauge.

If I hear just ONE MORE STORM WARNING wherein we end up getting NOTHING, I'm going to go postal on the local weather forecasters. Honestly, we've gotten "severe storm/all-day-rain" warnings for the past several days & have ended up with. . . . NOTHING. While I could easily live without the predicted wind/thunder/lightning/hail, it would be SO nice to get some rain. I am SO tired of not watering because of expected rain & then having to catchup-water the next day.
I know that weather forecasting isn't an exact science, but these bozos lately are really starting to get on my nerves. Having to find out at bedtime that the rain ain't coming after all does not make for restful sleeping.

Yesterday and today, we’ve had alerts to “it’s a good day for funnel clouds”, advising that these funnels don’t normally become a tornado. Also instructed to be sure to report if you see one.

Thursday night into Friday we had nearly 1.5" rain. Not many areas got any rain. Very spotty. Then cool and humid. I actually felt cold!
