We had some blue skies again today , then big black clouds circled all around but nary a drop of rain. They are still predicting daily showers through next Thursday. We'll see if we really get more measurable rain. It has warmed up again, too- a high of 81º today

Admittedly, it's 2am, but it's officially 64F. On July 3. Crazy, but nice.

Abnormally lovely day here today - sunny, very breezy, dry, & only mid-70's. I wonder what we did to deserve this?

breezygardener, "abnormally lovely day" applies here too --- high of 82, low humidity, clear blue skies and a soft breeze. Very unusual for July 3rd here. I'll take it while it lasts.

Today didn't get nearly as much rain as the last two days - only .18" so far, with more soon. But there have been several brief downpours, just enough to wet everything, to make it unsafe to fool with the plants, and still too wet in the ground - I had to be very careful walking out there.

I had another downpour a little while ago - .90" in just under 25 minutes! The temperature dropped 7°, but has started going up again. The sun is out now, but everything is soaked again.

We had another 3" of rain today... I'm beginning to think the Earth shifted on it's axis or something and put us into a rainforest zone...

Earth shifted on it's axis Been thinking the same thing! It's like a dustbowl in our area while some of Iowa has been drenched.

Daytime temps have settled in the upper 80s with our typical 15-20% humidity. Got another 4/10 inch of rain last night, all within 20 minutes . It was a fast and furious storm.

Looking forward to a few days of only 50% chance of rain. It has rained here all day long. I'd have to have a three foot rain gage to keep up with the amounts. Anything outside that will hold water is running over. Supposed to continue through tomorrow then drop to 50% on Friday.

We got about 15 minutes of light rain and that was all. The temps fell from 88 to 71. Turned off the air and opened the doors.

Feels COLD today. 68˚ and cloudy. 70% chance of rain. We got a trace, enough to get things wet. Glad I watered yesterday!

Electric company gave a safety notice today about remains of tropical storm coming in Friday morning. Won't need to water garden for the weekend. Tomorrow is a good time for me to set out any left over plants.

At least another 3" so far today. 90% tomorrow. I cannot recall nor recall hearing anyone recall this much rain at this time of year. Traditionally, we are blazing hot and trying to keep water on anything still green in July. The only reason I know how much it rained is that my neighbor told me. I'm not even keeping up with it any more. Anyone with a "Pray for Rain" sign up has long since taken it down for fear of being tarred and feathered.
It has been a phenomenal year. Extremely mild winter (tomatoes and peppers still growing...) until mid February when we set records for low temps (11 degrees and lower) for a week. Then a rain or two then nothing. The entire back hillside was dry and brown and crunchy when I walked on it. I had to water the garden to till it. Struggled to keep tomato and pepper sets alive watering daily. Then the deluge... I could literally stick my hand down in the ground/slurry and pull out rotting potatoes. It's been raining ever since. We had a couple of weeks of 95+ temps and some relief from the rain and all the plants that had gotten used to growing hydroponically wilted until we saturated them again.. My Cantaloups have Zero taste. I can soak them in sugar water for two days and they are edible. I can hardly wait to see what Fall brings....
