I've got on long jeans, socks and a sweater. It's #$%&*! cold out there and this adobe house is cold too. It's been grey all day but nothing falling from the sky yet.

I'm jealous, desertwoman! The heat index was just over 100° today, and next two are supposed to be worse. I keep reminding myself the peppers like it! However, this will be the first heat wave which will test my different tomatoes for heat resistance - I'll be watching for dropped blossoms, though that usually happens in high 90s or 100s.

Don't be too jealous pepperhead212, Highs yesterday and today were around 65º and the lows the past couple of nights hovered around 50º. My chiles and squashes are not happy. At all.

We are in a rain free bowl. All areas around us have been getting rain. Last 72 hrs for us was .44”. Areas as close as 30 miles had 2-3”. Sis had near 5”. No-till soybean fields are suffering in our dry areas. Some have poor germination.

After a several hour light rain yesterday, there was a pause, then it started raining lightly around 3AM this morning and continued to drizzled all day today. Another 4/10" in the rain gauge. That makes 8/10 over the past two days. That's a real decent rain here!
High today was mid 60s again. I had to put on socks and shoes when I went to town. Tonight is predicted to be low of 51

It's coming down HARD now! I only got .16" in earlier showers during the day, but I could hear the rain, so I went down to the basement, to shut the valve to the two watering pipes - easier than going out and setting the timers for dalays! . It rained over .1" in just the time I was downstairs - just 2 to 3 minutes! It has more or less stopped, and I'm only up to .43", but more coming, looking at that radar. Temp only went down 5°, and it's supposed to drop more, with the later fronts. Up N, in Bensalem PA, where a cousin of mine lives, was in a tornado warning until a short time ago, as are some areas down in DE. I'm in between these, so it's not as bad here, but still bad! Unless you're looking for rain...

Woke up to blue skies- the first in several days. Clouds moved in and out all day but no precipitation today. They are still predicting showers everyday into next week, however. It warmed up a bit too. Still below normal but a perfect mid 70s day.

Today was a welcome relief from the wet weather of the last two weeks. Mid 80’s and sunny predicted for the next 6 days so there is going to be plenty to catch up on as the grass needs mowing and the weeds in the garden wait for no one. Then there are the tomatoes that need staked and caged......

Southern Colorado finally received some precipitation, getting almost 2'' of rain as a system stalled over the area. Fortunately no hail, although a farming community about 15 miles east of us reported over 3-4" of rain with some hail measuring 2.85"...close to baseball size.

Got another quarter of an inch overnight, so it was just under 3/4" total. The temp was only 72°, but 99° humidity, so I'm not going out there any time soon!

We ended up with nearly 2" (1-7/8") of rain between yesterday & today here as well; but at least we managed to dodge the bullet that parts north of us received. Not only a LOT more rain, but serious electrical storms that spawned a tornado that swept through Arlington, VA, & D.C. proper, toppling trees all around the National Mall & Washington Monument areas.

Now today's rainfall is up to 1.72, so that's 2.46" with yesterday's. It got sunny here, too, but super humidity. It was around 7:45 pm when I heard the latest rain start, and in little time it went from 1.1" to 1.72"! I had to delay the dinner, due to the lightning (kitchen's not a safe place), but it finally let up. Still raining some, however.
