weedkicker, Maybe you should move? Goodness. Have you been born and raised there? If so, when did your people decide to move there and what year did your people start believing in that wonderful place? It certainly is an interesting lifestyle.

I'm thinking we are at the tail end of your weather system weedkicker . The overnight low dropped 12 degrees and there's a nip in the air this evening. High today was only in the low 80s (from the low 90s)

Inch-and-a-half of rain yesterday. Break this morning, thought I could do some spot weeding...then another inch-and-a-half spoiled plan. On high alert for fungal outbreaks. Over...

Just started raining when I went out, because it was shaded in the back, where I was going to work! It already stopped raining, so only enough to get the humidity up-probably not enough to register on the meter.

Maybe you should move? Goodness. Have you been born and raised there? If so, when did your people decide to move there and what year did your people start believing in that wonderful place? No, I was born and raised about 150 miles north of here, but I’ve lived here now for 38 years. The local joke is that the pioneers were passing through on their way to California when they ran into a dust storm. Their leaders announced that they would make camp and wait for the wind to stop before moving on. And... ...they’re still waiting. I came here for two reasons: 1. Work 2. Because I wanted to live in a place that had very little chance of turning into a real city. I detest cities. I peg the loathe meter when it comes to cities. I despise everything about them---the congestion, the noise, the crime, the traffic, and the myriad rules and regulations that always accompany them. The weather here sucks, which makes gardening a challenge (to put it mildly), but the place is clean, safe, quiet, and there are very few rules and regulations to deal with. The weather headaches are well worth it for the freedom this place affords.

Sauna-like humidity continues. The garden is loving it. High 80's for the next week. They keep mentioning rain, but it's elusive.

Mumsey, on a humidity roll here, too, and the garden is lushing it up. Great big beautiful almost-full July moon tonight, wearing a big happy smile. Moonshadows all over.

The summer oven has definitely arrived.
I got in my bike ride early this morning, before the temperature broke 80. Depending on your source it's now somewhere between 92 and 97, which the usual disgusting humidididididididity. Ran a couple of errands and sweated more doing that than I did riding.
Peppers and cukes are perking up. Lettuce is fading.

For sure the cukes like the warm weather.
Bike ride? My wife keeps telling me she is going to get me a bike so I can ride with her. Well I used to ride a bike but have not for several years. We shall see?

They say we are under a heat dome. No kidding. It's going to persist for at least the next week.

I just got .78", in about 35 min. - it has let up, but not stopped. And I got about 2 min. of ¼" hail! Hopefully, no damage.
Now I hear more thunder getting louder...and now rain getting louder...
I'm glad that I finished digging up that garlic!
