Up to .96", since about 3 pm, when it started. More thunder, now.

11:42 pm and it’s raining! Unexpected but definitely welcomed. We had another day of mid-90s. Keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts a bit and I can forgo watering in the morning.

Weedkicker in Utah? Please tell me where? Southern Utah. The middle of the Escalante desert.

Escalante desert, That is a good long hike from me here in Northern Utah. Cache County. What is your elevation? I am right at 5000 feet.

Ouch. 57 degrees here today. It may get into the mid 80s. Clear and calm. Beautiful day.

James, mid 80s would feel pretty good. The sweatin’ days of summer have arrived.

Hotter than Hades (or so it seems). Hovering around the 100º mark today through the weekend. Overnights will be in the high 60's.
There's a breeze, however, and if I stick to the shade I can do a few things outdoors.

High 90's here for a few more days (99* yesterday). Lows in the high 50"s/low 60's. Everything in the garden gets done between 6am - 10am, and then I'll start outside again close to 6pm. So far no wilting, but I'm trying to keep on top of it for the next couple of days.
The Dog Days of Summer are upon us - According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, the Dog Days of summer are traditionally the 40 days beginning July 3 and ending August 11, which coincide with the dawn rising of Sirius, the Dog Star. This is soon after the Summer Solstice, which of course also indicates that the worst summer heat will soon set in.

Low 90s, high dewpoint, as stiflingly thick as it can be. Gotta say though --- it beats cold and frozen, in my opinion.

The cool front came through yesterday. We only got a couple showers that didn't even get the ground wet under trees. 30 miles away, 3" rain, flash floods, power outages and wind damage. It's way cooler, but still humid. Me thinks the humidity is saving the garden, plants suck up that moisture.
