It has two blooms but it used to have four. I think this is the fourth year blooming.

I love amaryllis. Is that one called apple blossom? If not, it should!

Not sure what it's called. I think I got it as a gift one year. I have two more. A white one that bloomed already and a dark red one that is still just a bud. I bought those on clearance a few years ago for $1.00 and they bloom every year.

I have two of them, red ones, and one just got done with the second bloom since Christmas and more leaves are coming. Is that what is supposed to happen? Never did them before. This is the first year.

I plant my amaryllis bulbs outdoors every spring and let them bloom outside. I usually have a whole row of them in multiple colors. They are really pretty and I don't have to fuss with pots.
I just dig them up in the fall and store the dry bulbs in the garage. Easy.

Do they regrow flowers all season though? I guess I will transplant them outside at some point when it is warm. datgirl, that first pink one/white is real pretty.

No, pea... After they bloom inside, When planted outside, they will send up leaves but no more flower stalks... that season... At least mine never did... There are a bunch of sites with info on care of the bulbs and how to get to re-bloom... Here's one of them... guilford.ces.ncsu.edu/2015/12/saving-those-amaryllis-bulbs/~~~ I had a pretty red one this year... The first stalk set 4 blooms... The second stalk set 5!!

Mine only bloom once a year. They produce new leaves that I cut down in the fall when I bring them in.

I have had bulbs send up a second flower spike but I have never seen one bloom a third time.
Amaryllis only bloom once a year. Many people bloom them at Christmas time but mine are still hibernating in my garage at that time so they bloom several weeks after I plant them in the spring.
I have mine on a schedule of blooming in the spring rather than at Christmas. I never really liked having a pot of leaves sitting around for several months so I let that happen outside over the summer and I enjoy the flowers out there instead.

That's really pretty datgirl ... I've never seen one bloom on such a short stem! My brother has one that bloomed last year...all spent foliage and stems were cut off, and the bulb just stayed inside in its pot...been watered sparingly...never did the 'right' thing to do with the bulbs...the outside thing...etc... The bulb remains nice and firm... I noticed the other day that it's starting to send up a new leaf... Will be interesting to see how things develop...
