datgirl, Hi friend. I'm gonna have a late spring start here. Snow on the ground, and temps are 15 degrees below normal. I'm NOT a happy camper. Tell me some GOOD news. How is that granddaughter? Is she going to help you plant something this spring? Ohhhh, maybe some peas,!

Sorry about your weather. Ours isn't great, but at least there is no snow. A little colder than I would like. It's been in the 40's. Spinach is coming up in the cold frames, that's good news. Rowan is great. Can't believe she is going to be 2 already in April. We'll see how she does in the garden. I have a hunch she will like the digging part. My other Amaryllis bulbs are not blooming. The sent out leaves but no blooms so far. I wonder if they are just old and done. I've had them for several years now.

ahntjudy, lilolpeapicker, desertwoman, datgirl, My original bulb from the beginning of this thread is finally starting to sprout for a 2019 flower. I just noticed it today, so I brought the pot out of the dark corner of the basement and watered it and set it under my lights. Anyone still have their original bulb from this thread?

lisaann, Yes! My bulb is blooming for the third year. Last year in early February it was just waking up with leaf growth but no flower bud popping up until mid February and first bloom opened in early March. This year I woke the bulb up in early January. A flower bud/stalk immediately popped up, with a second one right behind it. Here at the end of January it is in full bloom! I put the pot outside late spring through summer and into Fall, watered it sporadically through the growing season, then brought it in and let it go dormant by November. I had never summered an amaryllis outdoors before. I think it liked it.

I know lisaann, I'm amazed at how fast it has developed. That's never happened before. The only difference is that it summered outdoors. We'll see what next year brings!

I'll be squealing! I'll squeal with you! Mine has 2 stalks with four flowers on each stalk. Maybe they just have different growth patterns each year. I didn't keep a record of the first year but I have last year and this year written down.
