Yesterday afternoon I spent 2 hours in the back yard vacuuming and shredding leaves, got about 4 bags done. Planning to stop by Dad's after shopping today. I don't normally shop on Sunday, but it has been a wacky week. I will assess her walking and mobility since I have to take her to the dr. on Tuesday and want to be sure it's safe to get her out of the house and down the deck stairs. I see the need for a ramp coming. Glad I got the back yard leaves cleaned up yesterday. The front needs done again, but depending how wet they stay this week, they may all go to the curb for city pick up.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister, gardendmpls. You've lost your husband, a sister, and you have a ward to take care of. But it sounds like you have a strong, connected, and supportive family. You have my best wishes (and Christian prayers).

Yesterday was a good day in central Illinois, sweetheart had numerous visitors while I used the excavator to look for the tile that I wanted to hook on to. Did some digging and I was getting pretty frustrated that my memory wasn’t serving me as well as I had hoped. But after a little break to clear my head a couple more feet of digging and there it was. The neighbor came over to help and in a short time we had the tile in the ground and covered up. Sweetheart had just finished staining her last horse access door of the barn when it was time to go watch our grandson’s football game. Not long after her kids started showing up for a surprise get together for sweetheart’s birthday. I’m so glad that we were home! Birthday cupcakes, ice cream, pizza and adult beverages with her family has helped lift her spirits greatly. It was a darn good day…….

Went to Dad's yesterday morning after my shopping in the city was done. Step mom gets around well with walker. I think with a gait belt it will not be difficult to get her to the car on Tuesday. I checked her med planner and as I suspected, she had pills in there that are to be omitted for now. Then the Iron, new pill, was totally missing. She had put it in a drawer with other discarded meds from the past. Found it and once again explained the importance of taking it for her anemia. I'll check the planner again Tuesday as I think she may play with them again.
Warmer today with a chance of rain again, which is OK with me! I plan to rake the front yard leaves to the street, way too wet to shred anytime in the near future.

Past weekend was kind of a wash. We had hubby's grandson and he is a handful. His mom is the daughter than has so many problems with mental health and drugs etc, and you can tell this poor kid has been affected by it all. Hubby tried to keep him busy outside, which was good, but when he is inside and bored,it's another story. He and my granddaughter swept up leaves into piles, but I haven't had a chance to pile them in garden. It rained last night and this morning, so they are going to have to wait. We just came back from voting. Hardly anyone there. In and out in no time.
