Early appt at dentist, 0730. Spent 3 hours cleaning up leaves before going to hospital in the afternoon. Step mom was having tests all morning so no sense in going and sitting. Stopped and picked up Dad on the way. When we got there, she was having endoscopy. Result is an ulcer probably causing bleed and not actively bleeding at time of test. But strange, her hemoglobin has not improved much with transfusion. Wait and see game. I let brother know I would come again today if Dad wants to go, he will call me if he does.
Drove home in pouring rain at 5 pm, what a treat!!! Almost forgot what rain was. It kept up until around 8 pm. The temps will be diving today and skies clearing and windy. So glad I got all those leaves taken care of yesterday.

So far I have taken Halloween decorations down. lol. Not that I have that many Halloween things, mostly black cats. Can you tell this is not my favorite holiday? Rained last night and this morning, so no leaf sweeping today.

Monday, with the fence staining project completed, I was able to get the yard mowed and leaves picked up at the same time. Put 4 loads, of 10 cu ft per load, on our pile of well seasoned horse manure. Later on I mixed the pile up with the loader. Iโll keep on doing that till the leaves are done falling and by next spring we should have some good compost. Late that night we got a call that sweetheartโs youngest brother had suffered a major heart attack and passed away. Life has been out of kilter since thenโฆ..

In younger years, I really enjoyed Halloween. The last employment location allowed/encouraged costumes and I participated. Somewhere, I still have the witch costumeโฆprobably packed away in the loft storage. Iโm never going to wear it again, but I should pass it on to either granddaughters or my niece. The skirt and shirt are nothing special, but the cape is awesome. On a breezy/windy night, I could fly without my broom๐คญ.

Don't care. I'm done with it. Well, Christmas decorations are going up in the stores, so you might actually be behind. I guess we're skipping Thanksgiving in my area this year.

My sister's and I had this conversation the other day. The younger sister is putting up her inside decorations this weekend. Since I have Thanksgiving dinner here at my house, I leave some of the fall and my pilgrims and turkeys up till then. I will put my tree up the week before Thanksgiving. So here in McHenry Illinois, Thanksgiving decorations are safe. At my house at least.

I carved our carefully-chosen traditional pumpkin this afternoon. Just the usual traditional jagged-toothed face; no detailed artistic shenanigans this year - my body wasn't into it.
