The first generation plant was quite the same, but the second generation was not and I gave up.
That's a common result when growing seeds from hybrids. The differences become more pronounced each year that you grow them.
Growing new hybrids takes hundreds of plants and at least 3-5 years, maybe more, sometimes even 10 years. That is why seeds from new hybrids are so expensive.

In response to lilolpeapicker - she asked what varieties of tomatoes we were growing. I'm guessing mine are all OP since my seeds are either saved by me or received in a trade. I like to experiment w/different ones, though this year I have about half from last year. Carbon. Cuostralee. Dester. Cowlick's Brandywine. Elgin Pink. German Johnson. Goldman's American. Guido. Jersey Devil. Lil's Favorite. Limbaugh's Legacy. Margaret Curtain. Opalka. Pink Sweet. Rebel Yell. Red Barn.
Thessaloniki. Santa. Gypsy. Hssiao His Hung Shih. Pink Ping Pong. Dixiewine. Roma Grande. Cows Tit. Super Italian Paste. Microbecium. Polish Linguisa.
Most in the ground, a few in DIY grow buckets.
