Lavender in the flower garden continues to put on a show of color. I need more of them. I don’t recall this plant putting on such a show.

I got this day lily in 1990 from a doctor I worked for at the time. The picture doesn't do the color of it justice.

Besides the day lily, the milkweed is blooming, sunflowers, borange, black eyed susan is showing off again this year. Flox are just starting to open. Bee balm is still going strong along with the pink cone flowers. The Joe Pye Weed will be blooming any day now. The bees are crazy out there. There were so many in the stone bird bath, I couldn't clean it and add water until evening when they went in.

Flowers make me happy.

I just picked the first bouquet in a long time. Rudbeckia, feverfew, and some fennel blooms. Yellow and white - bright, simple, and pretty.

Zinnias and marigolds are loving the heat! And I'm gonna rip out that darn vine that's supposed to be Cardinal Climber but it's Orange morning glory. It's ugly and yellowing leaves and is droopy with even a little heat, even though it's watered frequently. Outta here!!

What didn't bloom...the peonies and the hydrangeas. The plants are lush and healthy. I'm seriously puzzled, it's never happened before.. Meanwhile, everything else has made quite a show of it.

Wheelgarden, I have a hydrangea too, it hasn't bloomed either, but the plant looks exceptional!

Blackeyed Susan's showing off again this year. Joe Pye Weed is starting to bloom and the Sunflowers too. You can just see the orange tiger lilies blooming in the picture too. 2023-07-31_09-15-46 by datgirl2012, on Flickr
