Oh breezygardener, I’m far from sold on it but I am happy, so far, with its results.

Oh breezygardener, I’m far from sold on it but I am happy, so far, with its results. I'm glad it's working for you so far, but like I said - I've seen that it frequently doesn't stand up to really serious temptations - like another dog or other animal or strange person on the other side of the "fence" line. Especially if you're not there to reinforce the "stay" correction. Which sort of defeats the purpose. It was frightening as all get-out for me out walking my dog - on a leash - to have a Golden Retriever, of all things - to come charging out through one of those electric-fence things & accost us in an extremely nasty manner. Didn't even pause at the marked "fence line". My huge, very friendly Doberman found it very disturbing.
And friends who have used it - or tried to - have confirmed the same thing: that if the outside-the-fence thing is enticing/exciting enough, your dog won't care about the shock - they'll just blow through it. So do be careful.

With her toys close this silly pup likes to lay on her back, for a belly rub, and chew on my pant leg…..
