Late last night, I stuck my head out the front door to call the cat. No cat, but I heard a lot of geese traveling northwesterly. I didn’t know they moved at night, but yesterday was very windy and the moon was almost full. Perhaps they were restless and just had to keep going. Spring is on its way.

More daffodils are up, and tulips are now popping out of the soil. I haven't counted, but looks like most if not all the garlic is up. Tiny California poppies and larkspur sprouts have appeared, as well.

With the coming of Spring, comes the prairie burn at the buffalo wildlife refuge. Neighbor Dave does that on a much smaller scale. Last evening, as darkness was setting in, the fires were set and a team of pros did a north/south burn. With a full moon rising, showing between the branches of our Oak tree, it was very picturesque with the rising smoke softening the view.
This morning, they are back. Humidity level is higher in early morn and there’s almost no breeze, so it’s a safer time to burn. The Little Blue Stem planting between our properties hasn’t been burned for several years and volunteer Cedar trees were settling in. It should look beautiful this Spring.

Last year for Mother's Day, Mr. Breezy gifted me with a couple of bare-root purple lilacs which I potted up, & they're just starting bud/leaf out!

Not gardening, but a sign of Spring for me. Got a haircut and lost my 8 inch ponytail.

I saw harlequin bugs eating holes in my purple mustard today. Also saw a giant swallowtail harassing my tangerines today, so I think that means winter is over for me, which I’m very thankful for, I hate winter so much. Lows in the 50s, highs in 70s for next few weeks

While most of my daffodils are only partially up, the driveway border ones are starting to bud, & on the way to town today, "town" daffodils were already in bloom.

The majority of the daffodils are in full bloom as well as the forsythia, pussy willow and flowering quince. Cowslips are growing and looking forward to their blooms in the coming months.

Just looked out by the back fence and saw tulips blooming. The daffodils out front are almost ready to open and the ones out back are mostly happy looking leaves. It's interesting how each part of the yard differs, depending on the seasonal microclimates.
