81*, soft sunshine/cloudy mix, and a bit of breeze. I’ve spent a lot of the day outside in the flower garden and a bigger breeze would have been most welcome.
All those recent rains have stirred the weed/grass seeds. I came in for a cold drink, and even with a glass full of ice cubes, the drink isn’t cold enough.
More rain overnight, maybe.

When I went out about 2:30 pm, I only stayed out about 45 minutes in the shaded area in the back, and was soaked when I got inside. When I checked the temp, it was up to 96° by then, and HI was 104°. It was breezy, but not as windy as earlier. I only picked one tomato, and only because it was the first ripe Green Brandy - many others I left for tomorrow! Still 94° and 100° HI at 7:30, so I'm not going out again. Now they say the humidity is coming way down tomorrow - even though the temp is still supposed to in the mid 90s, the "feels like" temp is supposed to be lower! Doesn't happen often around here.

I do not like the "heat index". Makes it seem like normal heat for summertime is a lot hotter than it ever was. People go around saying it was 104 degrees yesterday, when it was only 96, which I have experienced many a summer. Just get in the shade, read a good book and drink some icy lemonade. Maybe run a fan.

Holy moly it got down to 47º as our overnight low. In July. Several nights before last night were in the low 50s. This is so weird. At least the soil is summer warm.

We are gray and drippy this morning. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms moved through during the overnight. Rain gauge had 1.4inches in it this morning.
We have lots of little frogs, about the size of your thumbnail. Walking through the yard is like chasing grasshoppers.

Yesterday was a little better, but not what they were forecasting - the humidity was still here, so the heat index was "only" 99°, not triple digits. Back to the triple digits today and tomorrow, with highs in the mid 90s. Those possible thunderstorms, starting tomorrow, but only because it is so humid - nothing on the radar heading this way.

Seems like a monsoon season here, lots of spotty rain and sometimes buckets of it. Then dry for a day, repeat. The heat and humidity kick in again this weekend with heat indexes over 100*.

Same here Mumsey ,. I was sitting on the deck this afternoon and it was sunny. All of a sudden it got dark and the heavens opened up and it poured really hard for about 20 minutes, then the sun came out, along with more mosquitos.

Yesterday we had leftovers, remnants from the hurricane finally showed up here. Not as much rain as I wanted, only about an inch and a half, minor winds, and at least two tornadoes.

I'm cursed. The hurricane remnants that should have dropped some rain here dried up and passed me by.

We got some of the leftovers from the hurricane here in northern Illinois. Central and southern Illinois got slammed. Hope centralilrookie is ok.

Lovely, cool, embracing coastal fog here today. We've had so much 'thick, marine layer' this year. At first it seemed cursed, but after a couple days without it, and temps well intp the 90s, it's now more than welcome. Most days, after it burns off, have been in the lower to mid 80s. Not bad at all. And in the mornings before the sun breaks through, it's been nice to work outside. Zero rain, of course.
