I'd hoped for some of the rain the hurricane was to bring but we only got the wind. Extremely dry

It rained here overnight - .34", so it was very humid when I was thinking of mowing the lawn @9 am, and very wet. Supposed to be much less humid today, but not yet, so I went out @10:30 and mowed the front and side, that were in the shade still, and it was only 80° breezy, but I still got soaked, due to the humidity. Not supposed to get much warmer today, but back to the 90s the next 6 days, with several days showing possible late day TSs, as usual, with heat and humidity.

Rain, finally. Thank goodness - my weeds were shriveling.

Rained .12" overnight, with some more, throughout the day, and into tomorrow. Low 80s today, but very humid. I won't be outside much today.

Our forecast has been changed over-night. Instead of coming temps in the 80s, for the coming week, the prediction is for low 70s. I'll take it!

Now the total is up to .49", after one TS came through. It is still drizzling, on and off. It hasn't gotten much brighter at any point, just staying cloudy all day, with some more storms likely.

All-day light on-&-off rain today, which is supposed to continue until around 4 a.m. tomorrow. Not as much as I would have liked, but at this point I'll take what I can get. Any day when I don't have to water in this oppressive heat is a good day.

Now, in a little over 5 hrs, the rain is still at .49". Misting on and off, but that's all. Still supposed to rain a bunch more, but don't know if I'll get any of it.

Really hot and sunny here today. Went out and watered pots and checked for any more rabbit damage. No more damage because everything is covered and fenced in. Sat out on the deck for a bit, but just too hot. I must be getting old. Never had trouble with heat before.

We had a 41 degree spread today from the low of 51 to the high of 92. I know i'm sounding like a broken record but this year's summer weather has been plain ol' weird.

So glad several of you are getting much needed rain. We are still dry, dry, dry here and the first 2-3 hours every morning are dedicated to watering.

We had a major storm blow thru last night. Torrential rain, high winds, tornado warnings. Thunder like I've never heard before. Literally shook the house. Luckily no damage here. Central Illinois got slammed again. Another storm expected tonight. Rain,Rain go away!!!!! Go east.

Currently 92* with a feels like temp of 112*. No matter how you look at it, that’s hot.
Severe storms predicted…wind with gusts to 85mph, hail, and maybe a tornado or two. I heard the word “derecho “ mentioned. Until a few years ago, I’d never heard that word.
No wonder home owners insurance premiums keep going up.

1.5" of rain in 30 minutes, half-dollar-sized hail in some areas, tornado warnings, trees down, power out. Last week we had 4 tornadoes touch down.
