I never thought I'd be relieved to see a high of 86° but it's been the lowest high temperature in a week. Overcast most of the day and rumbling since noon but only a few sprinkles. Was hoping for a reprieve from watering in the morning.

It's not been too bad thus far, but today it got up to 93. Fortunately no wind. And it's been cool enough at night.
Even though I've been keeping up with most of the watering, I accidentally forgot to water the 'special' zinnias I was growing in smaller pots for seed, and for the most part, they are toast. Fortunately I'd already picked about 15 inflorescences, and a few more just now. Some of the plants may come around, but I'm not holding my breath. I probably already harvested more than enough - if there is such a thing.

Oh..98o with 74% humidity. Even early 6 am is nasty. My grandsons love to be outside but by 11 am I took them into the a/c. My friend went to Maine for the w/e looking for property and it was HOTTER there than here in CT. I can handle it IF it cools off at nighttime. Humidity makes breathing difficult..and I don’t have any medical conditions to compromise me. Today, it will be 90o but humidity has lifted. So maybe I can get the weeds in the front garden under control?

.45" was the total yesterday - something, though not that much. And today was MUCH better - 84° high, and very dry, with a dewpoint of under 50°. And the wind was even higher than yesterday - 22 mph sustained winds, with gusts to 40 mph. Supposed to be back to 90° tomorrow, but still dry, but then back to those higher temps and humidity for Wednesday, with the heat index back in the triple digits.

It was still 101 heat index at 7:30 last night. It's 79 right now and 87% humidity. Questionable walk this morning.

We just had a massive thunderstorm blow thru. Lots of thunder and rain. Haven't been able to check rain gauge yet. Going to be hot today then cool off into the 70's the rest of the week.

Mumsey, that round of storms missed us by about a mile, per radar. We get another opportunity overnight. Just minutes ago, the road out front was bright with the last of the day’s sunshine, while the sky to the south is dark and green. Green is not a good sign. So, no hail, no wind, no tornado, no margarita, and no hammering. Maybe later.

Second round of stormy weather rolled through our area around midnight. Lots of noise, but no damage. Mother Nature left 1.25” of rain.

I got .73" of rain overnight, and temperature dropped, though the humidity was still very high, but it's supposed to drop, later on. It's still supposed to get up to 88°, but tonight it is supposed to be much cooler overnight, and much cooler tomorrow, with the humidity still low.

It's sunny, breezy and 75* with 44% humidity. I was almost chilly sitting out on the deck in the shade.

Rain started early this morning, then continued off and on. Dumped 8/10” from the rain gauge.
