Hoops - 10 foot electrical conduit, bent using a jig I bought. Hoops with shade cover and wooden clothespins.

Thanks for the steer, reuben , I'm thinking shade cloth is in my near future. I have to start thinking of new ways to keep my garden producing seeing as climate is nothing like it use to be.

I was lucky again today, as it didn't hit 90° again, and still not very humid. I don't know if that heat wave is just being delayed, or if it just isn't as bad as they have been predicting. Believe me, I'm not complaining! And days I see in the forecasts have lower temps, than some of those originally forecasted, though they are predicting some heat indexes over 100°, with that humidity. Still very little rain anywhere in the area, except occasional thunderstorms, due to the heat and humidity.

No watering today. Mother Nature took care of watering needs this morning. 1.9 inches she delivered. Skeeters and weeds. Can’t wait

My inner frugal and environmental self is finally succumbing to the heat today, and I've turned on the AC. The solar panels are installed but haven't passed all of the inspections and stuff yet, so I'll see how the geothermal system does on its own.
It might be a day to hang out in the Tiki Bar, but it looks empty and run down. Maybe it's been condemned.

Yesterday was the hottest day, so far, for here - 94° - but still not very humid, and quite breezy, so I wasn't soaked after being out there for a length of time yesterday. I remember the beginning of May was so humid that I would be drenched, even in the high 70s, or low 80s. Today and tomorrow are back to that, with intense heat! 97-98° the forecast high, and at 10 am the dewpoint was 72°, so I was very sticky when I went out there very briefly, around 9 am, when it was 84° already, with that humidity. And no rain in the 10 day forecast, except "scattered" popup thunderstorms, due to the heat and humidity now.

Weird Weird Weird After heat dome extremes putting our highs in the 90s (way early for that) and then plummeting the nights into the high 40s! the past two days have seen the highs in the 70s (much cooler than mid June is) with night lows in the 60s. Not sure my veggie garden is going to thrive this year.
We did, however get .61 inch of rain last night all in less than 45 minutes. That is torrential in these parts. Light drizzle this AM so not sure I will get to work outside as planned today.

We are on the sixth straight day of temps in the 90s and currently 94° at 3pm. I've been going outside from around 5:30 to 10:00 in the mornings and back inside until evening. Humidity is horrible.

It was hot out there today, but even at 97°, and the higher humidity, it was breezy, so bearable. I went out mainly to check my drip irrigation lines, making sure none had clogged, and a couple of the rows I increased the time some, due to this heat every day. Now it's down to 95°, but a heat index of 103°, so it was a little higher when I was out there, but that was when almost the entire garden was in the shade, before it starts getting sunny again, before getting in the shade again, much later. Possible thunderstorms later, but I'm not turning off my watering timers, since it hasn't been showing up here.

I was out there again today, in the 97° heat, plus really bad humidity - 103-105° feels like, though it really didn't feel like that, because of the 30-35 mph wind! I wouldn't have been out there digging up that garlic, if it weren't for the wind!
Eventually, it did rain, at one time fairly hard, and last I looked it was up to .36", but I haven't looked for a while! The temp dropped to 86°, with just .08", but an hour later down to 76°, with the .36" of rain, and that was 30 minutes ago. Radar shows more coming this evening, then again in early morning. And only 86° for a high tomorrow is the forecast, but they've been wrong before. And I saw a couple of lows below 70, which would be great!
