After reading about the floods in Death Valley, I think I will stop wishing for it to rain here... Stranded Motorists

Wow pondgardener . In Death Valley! Those images look similar to what our village looked like last week- mud buried cards and all!

Nothing here, as far as rain, but very humid, and into the 90s again. Disgusting out there, as usual, but at least there was a breeze.

It's a sauna out there. Heat index yesterday got to around 109*. The Princess sure didn't care for it. 76* now at 0400. Looks like most of the rain is skirting around us......

Rained during the night and just about all day. Went out to the garden around 6:45 to have a look around and found a mess. Two of the tallest sunflowers broke, some corn laying down, tomato plant all drooping over but the mosquito's are happily reproducing.

Hot, humid and overcast in central Illinois today. Clothes were totally soaked when I called it quits mid afternoon and took a shower.

Clothes were totally soaked when I called it quits mid afternoon and took a shower. You're supposed to take them off before you get in the shower.

98o with 73%humidity...that’s when you shower but are unable to dry your body enough to put dry clothes on 🤷🏻♀️ More of the same thru Tuesday. Sat out on the deck watching heat lightening w zero rain. For hours. Then got a sprinkle. Tropical.

Last night, we got our first measurable rainfall in over a month. 45/100 of an inch. More would be most welcome.

It was "only" 84°, when I went to Aldi's at 9 am, but had gone up 5° when I got home at 9:20, and the humidity was 79% - absolutely disgusting! I picked my okra out front, before coming back inside, and that is it for me outside, until much later, when it's shady in the back...hopefully, it will be as windy as yesterday. I skipped the tomatoes yesterday, so there will be a generous number today.

Our weekend total of rain was just over 1/2". Many areas around us got upwards of 2". Near sis they got 12.2"!! The river will be a risin' for sure. There was a lot of rain to the north of her which won't help matters.
