It's been thundering, lightening and pouring rain for about an hour now. Thunder so loud it makes me jump. Ellie kitty just sits at the screen door and calmly takes it all in.

desertwoman, they are forecasting close to an inch and a half over the weekend, which may be a little too much. Mudslides have closed I-70 east of Glenwood Springs. Although the Western Slope really needs the moisture, the rain is creating havoc in the areas that burned last year. Looks like we are going to have to put off visiting the grandson till September...

Sweetness has arrived. High 70s yesterday with lower humidity. Temps about the same today with even lower humidity. Currently 70. Rain tomorrow, then another great forecast for Monday. Can't be beat for this time of year.

It was 117 yesterday with the heat index. Mid to upper 90s with 60-70% humidity. Sweet taters, peppers, eggplant, and okra are fine with this weather, unfortunately the farmer is not happy with this weather 😂. 91 degrees at 0700 this morning. Rain all next week, hope the sweet tater harvest doesn’t get flooded out.

We finally got a nice day here! Yesterday wasn't too bad, as it was very low humidity, but today is the same, but it will struggle to get to 80°. I won't complain!

Same here, temps have moderated for now. Lower humidity, but the haze remains.

Bit of rain today. Everything in the garden as well as seedlings are ready for it.
Should be glorious (for August) most of this week. Highs only around 80, with dew points in the 60s.

Even cooler today, but very humid already. 71°, @81% humidity, and only supposed to get to 76°. Still, not bad, and rain is supposed to be coming through, but I won't hold my breath for it. A very small amount of rain came through before I was up, but not enough to register on the meter - just enough to raise the humidity!

A welcome break from the mid-90s heat, now at 84 degrees. Of course, the humidity remains...a rain event that was predicted never happened, and after the last week's scorching it looks like supplemental water is called for. Haven't had to do that much this year, but it's certainly expected in August. Ellie kitty just sits at the screen door and calmly takes it all in. Ellie's a fellow soul. I do that too.

Sunday and today it’s beautiful! Humidity below 60% and temps In Low 80’s the rain overnight cleared the smog from fires out west...but eyes were still irritated until this morning. I weedwacked around lawn and gardens...catching up...took over 2 hrs and. Never did get inside the veg garden. And the weeds are 3’ tall ugh. But the garden did survive all the neglect. Things need to be retired and supported. Later this eve I’ll finally weedwack that area. I was swearing that my hubby only buys gas driven weedwack ers that I cannot start. When he’s been home it’s been raining. So I finally got him to try to start it for me and it needs a sparkplug🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ 3 weeks to find out and overgrown. I’m watching a grandson today. Everything else can wait.

July it rained almost every other evening and never had to water. August started every day cloudy and cool, but no rain. Yesterday I gave up and gave the back yard a good soaking. Today was cloudless and sunny, and the plants are all smiling.
