Went to the dentist. The tech was able to pull the old crown off with pliers, I guess what they are. I certainly didn't want novocaine again so the dentist could cut it out. They told me they had ordered a replacement right away in case this happened, though I wasn't aware of it! Good thing, the new one fits and is in with no novocaine.
Went to see Mrs. J this afternoon at the assisted living. Hadn't been there in a month since they had an outbreak of Covid and she got it, but recovered without incident. We had a nice visit, I took along Applesauce Spice cake made from scratch.
Tomorrow it's house cleaning day. Hate it when that happens!!

Kiddo was well enough to go back to school yesterday and we headed out to do a much needed grocery run. Started at the thrift store where I picked up a few shirts, a pair of jeans and two 25 cent tinsel Christmas trees. Wasn't really in love with one of the trees except for the purple ornaments and figured I couldn't go wrong for a quarter. Went to Walmart and replenished some of the cold medicine and then to the other thrift store for the electronics pickup. They had one of the infrared heaters that looked like a wood stove with logs for $40 and after trying it out and discovering that particular model retailed for over $200, we bought it. Luckily it was 20% of furniture day, so we got it for around $30. Also found some match games for kiddo and a few clothes off of the dollar rack. In the electronics haul was a set of Beats headphones and a sound bar, both of which work perfectly. Hubby is always amazed at what people get rid of as he and I were both raised with the mentality that you don't replace something until it's broken or worn out. Then it was on to Krogers where they were having 4x fuel points yesterday. They had all of their frozen New Year's seafood reduced and I picked up two bags of shrimp and small containers of cottage cheese were reduced to .49 with an expiration date two weeks out, so I bought a couple of those too. In the end I racked up over 600 fuel points which amounts to .60 cents off per gallon and the refrigerator is full again. When I put the thrifted clothes in the washer, l I realized that I'd bought three purple cotton shirts which is a bit of a rarity. All three will likely make an appearance in the quilt I'm making kiddo from grandma's purple shirts.

emmsmommy, hubby is retired IT guy and is also amazed at the things he finds at the thrift stores. He doesn't go often, but when he does, he always comes home with something.

datgirl, what's even more amazing is that the electronics hubby picks up are all discards. They may be missing a remote or cord or the employees have no way to try them out.

Took the Christmas tree down and packed everything away. The house looks bare. Put up some red and white lights on a shelf for Valentines day.

I moved the seed starting rack and associated growing paraphernalia to my shop for the new season. That will help keep things clean and the neighbors will be missing that eerie glow that makes them think we are growing alien pods in the apartment. I have all the uprights and brackets screwed together this time to make it sturdier plus I put wheels on it since everything in the shop gets moved frequently. The lights, timer, and heat mats are all wired in, plastic is on the back, and some minor items to finish up along with the rest of the plastic.

Our neighbors asked my husband if I was growing pot in the room with the grow lights.

Well, you're more likely to net a good return than with cryptocurrency, so there's that.

Our neighbors asked my husband if I was growing pot in the room with the grow lights. That’s so unfair. I get asked this all the time. Assumptions and stereotypes aren’t cool. I even had my backyard and greenhouse searched last year

Finished up a few pot holders this morning. Made McMuffins for breakfast. Took a nap!! Was up at 0400 just cuz. 19* sunshine and no wind so we went for a walk. It wasn't bad at all. Did back yard frozen tootsie roll patrol. Cleaned upstairs, thread and lint everywhere. I no more than get it cleaned up, then the button is pushed for the repeat. Tomorrow is first floor cleaning. Maybe a trip to Dad's. Started working on the seed starting area in the basement, clearing off the shelves of stuff that doesn't belong there. Tomorrow I'm bringing in ProMix and flats for the onions, and finally going to start lettuce in the hydroponics, been putting that off. Then I have 8 kitchen size garbage bags (maybe more, some are living up top in garage) full of water bottles to cut down for plant containers. Sis saves them for me and collects from other people. They are currently decorating the garage, hanging from random hooks or wherever I could find to stuff them.

I even had my backyard and greenhouse searched last year Wow, raphanus I'm sorry you've been searched. It's so out of touch with where Americans are on the issue. The times they are a changin' and i t's changing rapidly, in favor of legalization. 31 states have decriminalized marijuana to some degree and of those 31, 22 states have fully legalized it. It's only a matter of time before it becomes legal at the federal level too- 68% of Americans currently support federal legalization and 70% want pot for recreational use, not to mention the medicinal benefits it offers.

Wow, raphanus I'm sorry you've been searched. Same sentiment here. Raphanus must have one of those neighbors trying to cause trouble. Here in New York it is legal to grow a few plants for personal use. I grew some this year just so my kids would come across it in the garden and say "What the hey??". That was fun and I learned a lot about it, like they are grown for the flowers, not the leaves. Also, it needs to be cured, which involves having a small humidity meter for each jar and "burping" jars twice a day for a while. Two of my kids tried it and said it was good. Will probably end up sitting on the pantry shelf. I don't use painkillers unless I have surgery and don't feel a need to use a drug to relax or anything, so it will probably just sit there.

Our neighbors asked my husband if I was growing pot in the room with the grow lights. I guess I would tell nosey neighbors that the fumes from my meth lab in the basement keep killing my marijuana plants and I am looking for people to let me grow it in their homes.
