Well the sleep study is over and hopefully kiddo slept enough to satisfy the doctor. She kept waking up and I'm sure being in a strange place and being wired up didn't help.
When we went back to the hotel this morning Mom told me her oldest brother was in the ER. We went to eat and she had a message that he had viral pneumonia in both lungs and was awaiting transport to the university hospital. About 30 minutes later mom got the call that he passed away, so we returned home immediately. There's been tension in the family for years and I'm just hoping everyone can get through this in a civil manner.

Sorry for your families loss emmsmommy , Finally feeling better this morning I went with sweetheart, our 2 year old grandson and sweetheart’s dad to a Christmas breakfast at a small berg near us. Dad really enjoys see his school mates and takes time to visit with all and the little guy was all over Santa and ate like a champ. Returning home sweetheart and I worked on getting our Christmas cards out. Combining her list and mine we have quite a few to send. Later on the farrier came to do the girls toes, he was happy to see that I had replaced the sand floor with the ag lime. Tonight we took supper out to sweetheart’s dad and visited for awhile. It’s good to be feeling better……

Thanks to everyone for the condolences. My uncle spent many years holding grudges and while I do believe one was justified, the others were simply a matter of disagreement. His wife is regarding his wishes however and some family members have been asked not to attend any services. My mom has found herself in the middle once again trying to reason with everyone. I cannot however fault his wife for honoring his final wishes as I believe that's what we all would want our significant others to do upon our passing. I do ask that you also keep my extended family in your thoughts as well as not only does this affect the siblings, but some of my cousins and their children and grandchildren as well.

Finished up the second rag quilt, they sure go a lot faster than hand quilting. But they make a mess in the washer/dryer with the first washing! Started on a 3rd one, this one is for brother who loves deer hunting. I found flannel with deer on it!
Went for 2 mile walk. We have been speed walking and The Princess is allowed to stop in only 3 places to do her thing. She is learning well!
Today I go get my bridge put in. It's the worst experience I've ever had with temp crowns. They both fell out! Never had that happen before. The first one came out while eating a PB/banana sandwich. Too sticky I assume. The second one came out when I absent-mindedly flossed that one......And my jaw is still sore from the 3 shots of novocaine.

Got the bridge put in yesterday. Took way longer than it should have. It was made to fit tight, and boy does it. Dentist had trouble seating it, had to get novocaine again so she could drill on one tooth. Once snapped in, she could not get it back out to cement it. So in a case like that, they lift it as much as possible and use a tool to shoot cement up into the area. 1.5 hours.
Noticed the DOT was out treating the highways, expecting ice. No walk yesterday as I didn't get home in time, just as well. Very windy and cold. Today will be worse with high winds all day.

Sunday morning I picked up 40 lbs of fresh breakfast sausage from my hometown catholic mens club. We got half bulk and half the heavier contiguous link so Sunday I packaged the bulk into 1 lb packages and yesterday I finished up the link. They are all in the freezer ready to be used as needed. Sweetheart had a bone density test yesterday so I chauffeured her to that and picked up some Christmas items while we were out. The money from the fall farm work sure comes in handy at this time of year. It was a very good day…..

Hubby and I went on a shoe shopping excursion yesterday as I only have tennis shoes, a pair of crocs and a worn out pair of work boots and hubby is pretty the same. We started early and one show store didn't open until ten so we headed to the next town since we had business there as well. Both of us ended up with comfortable dress shoes and three pair of Crocs that were on clearance. What the shoe store classifies as women's work boots and my definition aren't the same, so will shop for them later and honestly I'll probably end up with mens instead. PTO meeting last night and only four parents in attendance including officers. Our Christmas store was voted down in favor of taking the kids on an actual shopping excursion next year and I have mixed feelings about that.
Visitation for my uncle is this evening and hubby started getting a stomach bug last evening, so I've been trying to distance kiddo and I from him in hopes that we don't catch it too. Right now the plan is to take kiddo to my mother-in-law's this evening if she shows no signs of illness and I'll go on my own. Whether we will attend the funeral will depend on whether I can avoid the bug.

Got the bridge put in yesterday. Took way longer than it should have. Mine was put in on Thursday, took about 15 minutes to take out the temp, clean everything, fit the new one, and cement it in. So far, all is well and I am going to try and get a cleaning done before the end of the year, insurance pays for two a year. Hope yours works out well!

Finished Christmas shopping and started wrapping. A cold, wet, gloomy day. A good day to be indoors.

Hubby and I both attended my uncle's funeral today and were both moved by the eulogy given by his oldest step-son. He was nearly an adult when his mom and my uncle got together and opted to stay with his father while his two much younger brothers went with their mother. He praised my uncle for raising them to be fine young men. He also acknowledged that he and my uncle had several differences over the years but added that he couldn't have asked for a better father figure. Afterwards we made the trip to Hobby Lobby to pick up my Christmas present and some quilt batting, took time to eat Chinese and made it back in time to get kiddo off the bus. Mom and I are planning to attend an awards banquet tomorrow evening in which I'll receive a certificate for winning the short story contest a few months ago. I will go into kiddo's classroom tomorrow and have a ton of paperwork and a package to mail too. Looking forward to some downtime.

Started off the day with a trip to the dentist for a cleaning and check. All his good. My hygienist told me , years ago, that I only need to come in for cleaning once a year since I take good care of my teeth and produce little plaque buildup. Then a quick stop at the grocery store before heading back home. Waited for Comcast to show up at our neighbors- we are both having issues with internet connection or slow connection. The tech thinks it's because we have old wires coming to the house. Neighbor's got replaced today. We will set up a date for ours tomorrow.
