Well my day started out interesting. Our new principal loves utilizing group chat and often comes across confrontational. This morning she is on a tirade and in an attempt to try and smooth things out, I chimed in. Probably not the best idea I ever had but I thought she was overreacting and tried to say so nicely and I got attacked by her. Ugh! I think there should be guidelines for responsible use of social media.
Spent the rest of the day finishing ornaments and still need to gather stuff for show tomorrow. Decided my phone will be on mute most of the day.
My Baker Creek catalog arrived with a torn cover. Don't want to complain, but I did pay for it. What to do? What to do?

Sounds like USPS trauma.

I'd report it emmsmommy , USPS should be responsible. You received a damaged product that was handled by them.

Left my sister's yesterday and made a side stop in North Las Vegas where one of our nieces lives. It took about 8 hours only because we hit severe desert winds with dust storms so intense we had to slow down to a crawl. Had dinner, met her new boyfriend, and got an early start this AM. We drove a long day and got home by 5:30pm It's about a 10 hour drive, including our multiple stops to change drivers every 1-1 1/2 hours and/or get more gas. Plus we also took an hour break for breakfast in Flagstaff AZ. so an 11 hour journey today. So good to be home. But geez- after the balmy Avila Beach weather it's hard to take the 27ยบ it was at 5:30pm.

We walked in the morning yesterday, due to the forecast of dropping temps and wind. It was drizzling when we left. After we got home, that drizzle changed to rain, then snow. No accumulation, just enough to make everything slippery. Then the winds kicked in. Had to go out with The Princess every time she wanted out, otherwise in the wind she just sits on the deck. Walking today is questionable with high wind and cold. Almost done with quilt, 2 sides of binding to stitch down by hand! It will be done today. I really need to not sit and hand quilt for hours, my index finger joints are protesting.
Off to the dentist later this morning with my piggy bank in tow.......

Finally feeling like Iโm back amongst the living I was able to accomplish a few easy tasks around the house. Sweetheart was knee deep in wrapping Christmas presents and making arrangements for her and my familyโs get togethers. I try to keep my head low when they are brewing that stuff up.

Contacted Baker Creek and asked if I could exchange the catalog. They said no need to return it and have another one on the way

I just got my BC catalog today. It was raining all day today, but my carrier put that between my doors, though no other mail got rain on them, and it would have fit in my large box. I'll be browsing that tonight!

Well I brought some of the piggy bank money back home from the dentist today. As it turns out, the ins company has an allowed amount, not the dentist's actual cost. It's crazy what they charge for bridges, 3 tooth bridge $2700 for cryin' in a bucket!!! My cost is only $1117 after shaving off the fluff. The prep isn't fun, took 3 big shots of novocaine for me. Plus it numbed my eyelid and could feel it toward my ear! Asked her to tape my eye shut, it was getting dry and itchy. That was strange, only being able to close one eye!
Finished the quilt when I got home. Started watching "Away" on Netflix. About astronauts going to the moon then on to Mars. 10 episodes.
Too darn cold to walk, windy with wind chill of 9*. We played fetch in the back yard instead.

Had a slow morning after the 2 long days of driving. Grocery shopped, and some errands before settling in for the night. A whole bunch more leaves came down while gone but some are frozen under what looks like a light snow that came while we were gone. Clean up will have to be another time.

Well mom and I did the craft show and it wasn't too bad. A lady kept trying to get me to commit to another on Saturday and doesn't seem to want to take no for an answer. I just can't sit in one place for an extended amount of time. We'll probably do the same small show next year but that will be it. Have enough leftovers to distribute for Christmas and made a few bucks too. Today I'm scheduled to go into my daughter's class and not sure the reception I'll get in the office. Things have gotten pretty bad and three more volunteers have quit and a PTO officer is considering turning in her resignation. I'm considering my options which would either be to transfer kiddo to the next closest school or to withdraw her completely and homeschool. In the latter instance we'd need to set up outside therapy sessions again. I'd really like to keep her where she's at as she has established a relationship with the other students and the special needs teacher there is spectacular but the environment there is affecting her behavior.
Haven't really gotten to look at the Baker Creek catalog yet and have some ornaments and cooking to do for the quilt guild party on Sunday. This morning I need to do some cleaning, organizing and tackle laundry. Looking forward to some downtime in the near future.

Yesterday found us getting up early as sweetheart and a couple of her friends had a day trip to St. Charles Mo. planned. I did my morning chores then slipped down the road to one of my favorite breakfast destinations. I then made my way to Bloomington to pickup a few items with the the main goal being getting sweetheartโs Christmas present. Her absence made it easier to snatch up the remaining diamond stud earring, as the other was lost last summer, and get a comparable pair with a tighter lock. This is by far the earliest that Iโve ever had my Christmas shopping done. It was a very good dayโฆโฆ

centralilrookie, You can get diamond earrings with screw on backs! I have my very first ones that I got when I turned 18, bought by me for me. $99 back then, scared to know the price now. They have screw on backs. I did drop one down the bathroom drain once, but took the drain apart and found it!
