This is my first attempt with Photobucket, please be patient and bear with me
It looks like you cut and pasted the DIR link which takes us into your album instead of just showing us the pic in the posting.
Try again but this time cut and then paste the IMG link and it should show the picture right in the posting.
Your Bolitas got HUGE didn't they and they look wonderful. I would say that you are going to have LOTS of Bolita beans in a couple of months.
I only have a couple of flower buds so far but no open flowers. I am happy that I am not the only one. I was thinking that something was wrong with mine!

Those plants are huge and beautiful. In the middle photo, the pattern of the growing leaves looks like pinwheels to me. How tall are the trellises?

I think the top of the trellis before beans was a bit over 6 ft. Now there are multiple strands wrapped around it, so it got higher. I cannot touch the top standing on my tiptoes, but I am not a very tall person. desertwomanNow I can't recall the exact number, but I think around 15-20 plants. I am making another attempt at Photobucket: .

Octave, when you pull up the picture you want there is a list of options. Choose the last one IMG and just click on the space. The word copied comes up. Then come into the forum and paste it into the reply. You don't have to grab the word copied just come back to this forum. That's what I do.

They are beans, and better than a Pinto bean. Really delicious........

James, if you Google Bolita beans you will find lots of info.

James- they are known as New Mexico Bolitas. When the Spanish were settling NM in the 1500's, they farmed along the Rio Grande and planted Bolitas, which they brought over from Spain. They are very much a part of Native New Mexican cuisine. And the Pueblos (Native American) incorporated bolitas into their cuisine , as well.
Though similar to a pinto, they are much creamier and tastier and are considered a high protein bean.

Thank you lisaann. I am smiling but I am also puzzled by the Bolitas. I must say it is a somewhat unique plant, with all those leaves and vigorous growth. And it keeps growing, rather fast. I don't know if I should add a support or something. It looks like it still wants to climb.

I think that the Bolitas are like indeterminate tomatoes. They will just keep growing and growing..... If you give them more supports, they will probably just outgrow those too.
Last year mine made it to the top of 10' bamboo poles and started falling over. I only had 3 plants though so you did not see as much growth as with yours. I don't remember them taking as long to flower as mine have this year but I did get lots of beans so just let them go where they want and you'll probably get lots of bean too.
