Octave,
I get like that too, and then something starts to bloom and I get excited all over again.
Can you share some pics of what's happening at your place? Maybe we will see stuff you should be excited about! I see nothing and uncle comes and says, WOW, that is really taking off, then I get a new perspective. I look stuff too death and then miss growth............and someone mentions it and I realize things are doing better than I thought.
I was hoping tbird would share some pics of her progress.

Dirty fingernails are my best friend this time of year. Nail polish is a great way to hide all the crud! I do wear gloves, but when they get holes the fingernails suffer anyway!
Weeds here too, must be the "Year of the Weed". It definitely is the year of the little helicopter maple seeds. They have sprouted everywhere! I pull at least 50 a day out of the garden. I even see them growing in the lawn.

Because of so much rain and cooler weather in May, I'm about a month behind in planting the vegetable garden(s).
In the community garden, I have tomatoes planted - that's it. I've hoed rows for proposed plants and seeds, and then it rains again and mud accumulates on the hoe and my garden shoes.
At home, I planted seeds in April and May - only some broccoli has sprouted. The rest of the seeds must have rotted since nothing else is up. I'm so tired of this rain . . . . we had 2 days without rain in May. And now that June has begun, the rain has increased along with graupel and hail.
So if the rain slows this week, I'm hoping to do a quick plant of the root-bound plants just waiting to get into the ground, and maybe replant beets, winter squash, and carrots. The only good thing is the garlic - and the scapes are just beginning to show.

Thank you guys for the encouraging words. I've been thinking about what I posted earlier, and one of the things that is missing this year is bees. I so wanted to set up a beehive. I wasn't thinking about honey, just a way to house and shelter bees. But due to my inexperience, weather, and some unforeseen delays it's is not (yet) happening.

I see lots of bees here. The catmint is full of them daily, also lots of bumblebees which Princess finds interesting. So far she has not tried to catch them.

My hands and fingernails look terrible. Yes! It's incredible! My fingernails you would think were the "before" shot, after cleaning....

I see lots of bees here. T I have plenty of vespids here too, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to say if they are bees or otherwise? Have seen a few of the big bumblers, but the majority are smaller, maybe 2-3 different types? I should pay more attention, I suppose, but as long as they are abuzzing, I think I'm good? Pretty sure my yard is focal point for them, they love the chives, and the comfrey, some borage will be blooming soon for them, and the alyssum is starting to bloom in quantity. Do they like lilacs? I have a lot of those, but don't really remember seeing anyone buzzin about there....

I was worried about what to plant behind my sweet cicely, she has grown so tall, and is blocking the veggie bed, quite significantly....then as I was trying to shade my lettuces in the other bed, I thought! perfect for shading lettuce!

kale and chard were doing quite poorly in hard clay soil, so I moved both and put a good 4-5 inches of the happy frog potting soil down for them. I hope the current temps haven't been too hot for them to transplant well....
