and - I must be getting old or something!
After doing the tom bed mulching, I'm about to collapse! Still so much more to do....pepper bed, some curcubits not yet planted, some paths to redo, and ornamentals awaiting their new homes, for - I'm thinking 4 weeks!
Am I the only with a tough time keeping up? And while you're working on this corner, the weeds are growing in that one!
I guess if I didn't have all that bindweed, I'd be more ahead. I spend a few hours everyday pulling it!
Resting up - and heading back out soon....
must.
keep.
going.

I am very much slower this year than I ever was in the past. My stamina has been depleted. I am gonna have to do something about that. Walking....gotta do it regularly.

My stamina has been depleted. start your day with a green smoothie! I forgot mine this am....maybe the culprit....12:30 and I haven't really eaten, just taste tested some sour cashew creme I'm culturing.... I unloaded 6 bags out of the trunk, they've been in there for 2 weeks! pathway mulch....some cheap soil to fill in unimportant holes - that had me huffing and puffing. Now - raining again.... I should get my smoothie started....

I feel like I'm always playing catch up. Between the cooler and rainy weather and this thing called work, I feel like I'm behind in everything garden. I just got the last two toms in today between the rain. I have a few still in pots as replacements if I need them. If I don't plant them in the veggie garden proper, I'll put them in some big deck pots.

I'm feeling particularly behind this year. I think it might be because of all the rain we had in May. (The weeds are outrageously out of control), then factor in the drought over the past 4 years- therefore a lack of weeds- and the fact that I am now 4 years older (at a time in my life when 4 years seems to be making a huge difference) than the last time weeds were abundant. But whatever it is, I am definitely seeing a difference in my abilities this year.
P.S. And I do drink a green smoothie almost every day!

It has been a struggle keeping up with the weeding for me this year too. I like to spend most of my time in the veggie garden but then the flower beds get out of control so I spent the last 2 days pulling weeds.

finally made my smoothie after another stint in the yard.....I'm so close to seeing visual accomplishments, it's hard to stop!
And I realized - I never even had a glass of water yet today! Having 1-2 before starting on the smoothie....

I had taken a few days in May off and decided I liked it. So I have decided to take the summer off from work this year. I have about 3 weeks left.

Glad to see I'm not the only one behind!
Just got done weeding around my prickly pear cactus. Have to spread mulch, but I'm down to a 5 gallon bucket to carry the mulch back there. Wheel barrow broke. Cactus is in the way way back, and mulch is in the front of my house!
Gonna wait until it cools down a tad to go spread mulch.
It sucks when I don't work, then I start getting caught up, then I start working again, and everything gets behind again!
I need a girlfriend that's into gardening. It'd be nice to have a best friend/girlfriend into gardening. I may just marry her!

I'm so far behind...I have a list of "need to do" a mile long. Not just garden, but yard, house, garden shed. My wants and needs are not the same as hubby's. Volunteer junk saplings in the windbreak don't bother him, but drive me crazy. I'm thinking of calling the tree people...telling them that I need a man with a weed whacker and lopping shears. All in good time, I guess.

It would be nice to be compatible if u are considering marriage,Kevin, as long as you allow for individuality as well.

welp, made a real dent out there, but had to give up the ghost and take a long, long shower! Maybe another dent next weekend....I do hope it starts to go along a bit quicker....but - I think I've made enough progress that the visual effect will increase quadratically with linear input..... What with the early thunderstorms, I haven't been this dirty since I was kid! My shoes have like an inch of mud caked on them! I can move a bit......slowly....just going to have a simple sandwich for dinner, a few hours of tv and then to bed.....

My hands and fingernails look terrible. I'm glad my coworkers know I'm a gardener and not just dirty. I know I should wear gloves more.

I am feeling a bit slow this year as well. Some of the enthusiasm of the past is no longer there. I am working a lot but at times it feels like a chore. Maybe I am just bored, I don't know. The garden(s) look good (I have two to tend), the flower beds are allright--and I am happy about that, but something is missing.

I can't stand it when I wear gloves....it makes me feel hot. It sounds like you got a good day of gardening in despite the rain tbird. Way to go!
Weeds have been trouble for me so far...they are ahead of me. But this weekend I made some good headway with them. I hope I can keep it up during the week. Rain is supposed to hit tomorrow and Tuesday....maybe we will get what tbird had....we will see.
