I like my string beans cooked a long time too.
I hate beans that just get a quick fly bye in a pot of water.

Karen, you are always a sweet reminder of the good things coming.
My green beans (pole and bush) got planted a few days ago. Today I plan to plant my dry beans.

Mine just popped out of the ground yesterday.
We like our beans crisp/tender. No all day cooking for me.

Our green beans have not been planted yet. One of our 4 x 8 raised beds has been designated as square foot this year. I'm thinking 25% of that bed will be beans. How many beans per square foot? I'm thinking 9. Too many? Too few? What do you think?

I grew up with them cooked to death, now I like a little snap to them.

Princess likes them raw too. I am just hoping she doesn't discover how to pick her own! Last Fall she wasn't able to get to them, now that the yard is fenced, she can find them!

Mine (bush) are at 12" and showing some blooms. Darn wabbits trimmed almost a quarter of them a couple of weeks ago, but most of those are recovering somewhat. Another bed of them will go in when the snap peas are done in a few weeks. We just finished the last of our stored green beans form last year, so we are ready for fresh!

Claude, I'm sure Princess would eat asparagus too! She eats everything that accidentally gets dropped on the floor. Tonight it was a piece of celery! I usually give her a carrot while I am working in the kitchen. Otherwise she gets no people food. She has even eaten lettuce and onion. Sometimes I drop things accidentally on purpose just to see if she will eat it.
