Purslane isn't bad in moderation. Dandelion greens however either need to be sautéed or picked while very young before they get really bitter. I was reading about how the English used to blanch the dandelions and how that was supposed to result in a milder flavor. I'm actually waiting for the first salad of chickweed, cleavers, bittercress, violets, plantain and whatever else I can find. I mix it with a honey and herb vinaigrette and it's divine, well at least to me. Hubby refuses to eat weeds though he has unwittingly several times.

We like purslane, that tender, mildly tart-lemony-peppery flavor, in salads and on sandwiches. It's partially to credit for getting my two youngest grandkids interested in gardening, as they loved to pluck a bit or two or three as they roamed about with me. I almost envy people who have it prove invasive. Chickweed (in moderation, because it's a bit diuretic) has a sweet flavor. Got to pick it before it blooms.

My crop of purslane came as a benefit of a bagged manure purchase. I fought that stuff for a few years.

Purslane is crazy in dad’s gardens. It gets huge! Loves sheep manure apparently. I’ve told him it’s edible but he’s not inclined to try it.

Dog food. Purina Pro Plan. Seems in short supply. If it’s in stock tomorrow I’m getting 2 bags. 34 lb bags.

I wonder what part of the shortages are people stocking up just a wee bit more than usual. I no longer shop every week, but now maybe once per month. And I'll buy extra. Not hoarding level extra, but enough extra to be comfortable in case Of a shopping delay.
Supply chain issues, workers out, and buying just a little more would really add up.

Just went to re-order on Amazon and the price has really gone up, almost double. And for some flavors and sizes, either unavailable, or only sold by new dealers with no track record. No thanks. I just ordered a more reasonable, but highly rated new type, same company. Hope they like it.

I just picked up two bags of Science Diet for Gunner and Pet Supplies Plus was very well stocked with all of the major brands. Best of all, I managed to coordinate his need for food with my receipt of a 25% off coupon. I bought his shampoo on Amazon for just under $4 a bottle, much better than paying $12 or more in the store. This is what I bought and it works well for a cheap shampoo. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RVD63J1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you're having trouble finding your favorite pet-food brand(s), try Chewy - www.chewy.com/. When the pet-food shelves at all the stores around here were bare, I could get all of my favorite brands at Chewy. Free shipping with $49+ orders, & it's on my doorstep in 2-3 days tops & most of their prices are very competitive.

I looked into Chewy but quickly changed my mind when I discovered they shipped through FedEx. Two of my daughter's packages from a cousin were left elsewhere by FedEx and hubby's cousin has had a battle getting her money refunded. We've called and complained numerous times and can't even get a call back.

I've been using Chewy for quite a few years now, & the one time a delivery went AWOL, Chewy immediately replaced it at no charge. Ditto for a friend of mine when he had a pkg. never arrive.
