Went to Meier this morning. Again, pasta shelves were low on stock. Everything else looked pretty well stocked. Lots of people wearing masks today. Maybe a preThanksgiving caution.

I went to Costco yesterday, and eggs were still limited. Only 2 cartons per customer. Their cartons are 2 dozen each. Price was higher but still reasonable - about half of the regular grocery.
There was no limits on their water, but they don't seem to have the gallon size. A friend mentioned this a month ago. They only had the pint size bottles. They used to carry 4 sizes. Don't know if this is temporary or not. I asked the checkout guy, but he had no info. For several months I've been cruising on my saved earthquake stores thinking I could just buy more. It however might be time to refill some bottles with tap water for an emergency.

There was no limits on their water, but they don't seem to have the gallon size. We've found that here the past couple of weeks. Not at Costco, but at regular supermarkets. Only Walmart seems to be regularly stocked with the gallon-size of purified drinking water. Our well-water is perfectly fine, but we need the purified water for our coffee & ice makers.

I'm noticing less bare shelves lately unless you count Kroger sale items which are hardly ever in stock.
I am glad I stocked up on non-food necessities during the summer though. We've been really watching our pennies with all the hospital stays, appointments and an impending vehicle purchase and I just opened my last jug of laundry detergent which should last at least three months. Canning lids seem to have increased by $1 since last year and so glad I have a pretty good supply of them in reserve too. Now that spring is here our business income will likely increase and I can begin stocking for next winter.

emmsmommy. , Watch these guys before you go out to buy a car! YES! DS used to be a dealership manager. He hated it and got out for obvious reasons. I learned alot too. He advised me to never take their financing unless it's better than what you can get on your own. And don't fall for those add-ons. That's where they make big $$$. Car dealers make you concerned only with the monthly payment and they stay focused on that, because they can manipulate that to work with add-ons they want to sell you. Always look at the bottom line! Many of those add-ons can be had for way less by looking for them later, if any are important to you. And make it a cash sale by taking a check from your lender. They hate that.

martywny, Mumsey, thanks! My dad and first husband both were bodymen at dealerships and I learned so much from them. I know when I bought my Subaru Legacy in the early 2000s I asked for the price without trade-in right off the bat. I smelled a water-leak in the trunk area and was told by the salesman that I was mistaken. I test drove it on the interstate for a few miles and noticed a shimmy, which the salesman also brushed off and it needed tires. I went home and the next day they called and asked if I'd like to come take it home for the weekend which I declined since it was Christmas. The body was in excellent shape and mileage was fair, so my dad went with me to look it over and told them he could take care of the water leak but the tie-rod ends would need to be replaced before we'd even consider it. We'll they pulled it in the garage and fixed it, we haggled on price and then I mentioned that they'd offered to let me take it home and reluctantly they let me do that after I mentioned that I'd need to price new tires. I told them if I liked the way it handled, I'd be back the next morning and buy it. By that point we were down to half the original price and the sales manager told me that he wasn't fixing anything else even if it was a light bulb for that price. Well I bought it the next morning and the sales manager offered me a job as he said I was one of the hardest sales he'd ever had to work for. I declined but he ended up making another sale as dad bought a vehicle off of them the next week. We're actually looking for something reasonably priced without taking on payments. Too many variables right now to consider and Mumsey, you are so correct about working with your own lender than letting them finance. Learned so much about that when I worked at the bank. If things go well we'll be looking for something nicer next year.
