Not yet, though the weather has been very nice. Snow expected tonight. It's very tempting!

I planted peas and radishes a few days ago. For now, it's keeping an eye on the seedlings in the greenhouse until the last frost date passes...I'm really impatient! I want to plant!!

The traditional day to start peas here is March 17 but this year the ground is only thawed on about the top inch but is frozen below that.
I only have some lettuce and spinach started in pots indoors. I can harvest a few leaves soon. They won't make a whole salad but it will be nice to add a few home grown leaves to some store bought romaine.

My peas are going in Wednesday (3/25) after work. I will start hardening off my onions and Jericho (romaine) lettuce that day, with a plant out on 4/1. I laid down plastic to warm the soil. Yep, I do that, when I must. This romaine (jericho) is new to me. Sprouted easily and looks great. www.superseeds.com/jericho-lettuce-60-days.htmlAnd will direct seed some red lettuce and green looseleaf lettuce. 4/1. DW. when are you planting your pole beans?

Still too cold here, with temps dropping below freezing some nights even if they climb up into the 50's during the day. It's really not safe to plant in my area until mid April, as we're still getting some winter cold. And there's always the danger of an unexpected last hurrah as winter makes a dramatic exit with a storm.

Yes! Planted garlic in the fall. Planted onions, both sets and plants a couple days ago. Planted a row of radishes. It is time now to plant any of the early types such as peas, spinach, lettuce, chard, cabbage, broccoli, radish, turnip, carrot, kale, onion.
May 5 is my date for corn, beans and squash planting. June 1 for cucumbers.

Thanks to Oliverman's suggestion, I planted a few seeds in the garden (!) that I've never done. I'm going to see if some broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage might sprout with no intervention from me. No watering.
The garden already has onions (I think since they're so skinny) coming up in wide rows. In another couple of weeks I'll plant the ones I just planted indoors.

Peas, lettuce, spinach, mustard and onions thus far. I got some of my peas (Sugar Snap) in on 3/9, they're up and looking good. At the first chance I'm going to get the Cascadia snaps in, so we can finally have a comparison this year.

when I feel up to it, the weather would certainly accommodate: peas, carrots, leafy veg, rutabaga, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage etc... cool weather crops could certainly go in now, ... I await the energy and help...

Tomato Z, I would be very interested in knowing what happens with those seeds. You are in zone 5....in CO, I am zone 5 in NY...Your ground isn't frozen right now? Mine is but snow is still melting....nearly all gone.

Ours never stopped. Spinach, chard, lettuce, turnips, carrots, parsley, cilantro, mustard greens, all still going strong. I put in 14 tomato plants and two jalapeno plants today.

I will on Good Friday. It's just a coincidence, I'm planting at my parents exclusively this year, due to an active puppy who digs and that is the next time I can get there. On the over hand I gave 9 plants to my ex boss yesterday and he said they would be in the ground by sun down.
