Was out weeding a strawberry bed that is being replanted. Dark clouds in the sky. Started sprinkling intermittently, not enough to warrant going inside. Can't say it's enough to declare the drought is anywhere near broken.

Can't say it's enough to declare the drought is anywhere near broken. It's a trap! Don't fall for it! That's what they want you to think!! I read that my area could get some rain in a few days. I looked it up - 20% probability. Hah hah...

Severe thunderstorm warnings for yesterday/overnight, but what we got was rain, thunder, and lightning. I dumped 2.15 inches from the rain gauge this morning. Some folks not that far away had 4 inches.
I’m glad those 70-80 mph wind gusts didn’t happen in our area.

It is 81 (!!!) here at the moment. Down from 82. In October. On Halloween. I recall the biggest problem on Halloween when still a sprout was whether one's costume would fit over or under one's winter coat.

oh my od-gay....Last night's low was 19º This can't be. Then it warmed up slowly to 54º high. Most remaining greenery turned to mush but I can see what withstands a deep freeze- pear and apple tree leaves, rose bush leaves, yarrow, hesperis (dames rocket), oregano, tarragon, parsley, thyme and lettuce.

Our last rain was .01 inches. Don't think that should qualify as rain, but the weather service does. Expecting another .01 inch today. If this keeps up, rainfall will total an inch by this time next year. Better get a canoe.

The thermometer close to the front door read at 33* for a low, but the south lawn is white with frost. I have/had 🤷♀️ a fine crop of volunteer dill growing with the cover crop of Crimson Clover. I’m guessing the dill is toast. I really intended to put a cover over it. update…checked the dill late this afternoon and found almost no frost damage to the dill.

It rained here this morning; though not enough to register on the rain gauge, it was damp out, and there were drops on my car - first time in over a month. And the humidity was 72%, and I can't remember the last time it was out of the 30s. The temperature didn't drop below 66° overnight, but it's not supposed to get as warm as the record 82° yesterday, but still 78° - well above average - before it cools off to low 60s the next two days (still above average), before going up again.

It still got to 80° today. I would have waited until tomorrow, to do those pickles, since it is going to be much cooler, but the wind was very gusty today - up to the 45 mph in gusts, and what I was going to do was leaf blowing, which would have been a losing battle! Next two days much cooler, almost down to average, and less wind, so I'll be outside then.

The overnight low, last night, warmed up from the previous night's 19º low, to 27º Today was a sunny warmer day with a 60º high. haven't had a drop of rain, or even a tease, since we got that epic 3 inches, 2 weeks ago.

Started raining last night right after dark. Must have rained a lot, I hear the sump pump going off. It is expected to continue through Tuesday.

30+ degrees cooler than last week. Strong winds yesterday and today making it a challenge to do any gardening. Possibility of rain later.
