I did mow the lawn today, after it got cloudy, and I don't think it got over 75° all day. I tried finishing everything I could, since the heat is going up quickly. I will be back inside quickly and early, in this hot spell ahead.

Warming up again. Got to 83º today after last night's low of 47º. So much for staying in the 50s....

82* already at 10 am. Sticky and hardly any breeze. Summer has arrived. Come July we will be crying for wind. July is typically less windy. We are inside for the day.

High was 88* and very windy. Some things were watered yesterday…some needed it again today to make it through the drying winds.
There’s talk of nasty weather tomorrow…75 to 95 mph winds south and east of us. They threw in that “hail” word along with the winds. Siding/roofing companies must love these storms.
Gardening brother and his 2oo tomato plants might be in that nasty zone. Hope not, he has put so much work in to them.

And we're back to scorcher days. Got to 90º today and it was 101º when we were down in Albuquerque. Last night's low was 54º so hopefully it will stay in the 50s now so that the chiles can start growing robustly.
PS is anyone having "normal" weather patterns this year or are we all in the weird zone?

Today’s weather forecast is a carbon copy of binnylou’s in Iowa. I’m hoping the weatherman is off a bit with his predictions……

It's getting warmer out there earlier today. Yesterday wasn't as bad as predicted, and may have gotten to 80°, but it was already up to 78° before 10am today, and 89° is the forecast high, though still relatively low humidity. But overnight was already getting a little higher in humidity, and tonight will be worse, with higher humidity to go with the 93° heat, or so they say. And some rain coming late in the day, but I'll believe that when it happens.

86 degrees and 56% humidity. It was blazing sun earlier, but some clouds have moved in. They are calling for rain later, but it looks like it's falling apart.

103˚ in Southern Colorado today, beat the old record by a degree. A cold? front passes through tomorrow and the temps drop down to 90˚. But then the high shoots back up to 102˚ on Sunday. Gave all the plants a good soaking last night and this morning, and with most things mulched with pine needles, everything should be ok for now. Fortunately our humidity levels are low.

And some rain coming late in the day, but I'll believe that when it happens. Yup. It's dry as a bone here. I watered everything today and I never water everything, but with 4 or 5 days of 90's coming up, I figured I'd better.

A cold? front passes through tomorrow Same here pondgardener. We must be part of the same weather pattern. High today was 93º and tomorrow is predicted to hit a high of 74º(!) with scattered thunderstorms. Then warming back up on Saturday to high 80s/90-ish Low last night was 52º

Today will be the coolest day of the next week or so. Only 83* with lower humidity. So I'll be doing outside work today. Then we are to expect 90's.

is anyone having "normal" weather patterns this year or are we all in the weird zone? Is there such a thing as normal? Because geological cycles are so slow, we don't recognize the patterns in the everyday. If we would live a thousand years or so, we could say, "Why I remember when it was like this; way back in 1363 the weather was just the same."

desertwoman, I wish the nighttime temps would drop to 52˚, so the whole house fan would draw in some cooler air. Temps this morning were still in the low 70's at 3am and right now at 7am it is 68˚. Seems like we are getting an early start on summer.

It only got down to 71° here overnight, and it was only 78° @ 12:30 am, and 82% humidity, so I guess the AC is on for a while, and no more of those fall-like I had for the last week. They are predicting a long heat wave, starting Monday, and today another 90+ day, with humidity. Brief break for the weekend, though not much of a break (just not in the 90s!). And I'll see if any of that rain actually gets here - it has been fizzling out, when it gets to the Delaware, or before.
