Geez... another low last night of 37º. (the prediction was for 44º) The high today was 76º but it was windy so it felt cooler. We'll see what tonight brings-the prediction is for 45º but it's already down to 46 and it's only 11PM.

Another colorful map this morning. Watches and warnings of all kinds all over the state. Our drought is officially over! The only good day for the next 4 is Saturday.

Hunkered down in the basement…sleep was interrupted by cell phones sounding off.

We dodged it again this morning despite the severe storm warning. More to come later.

It got real dark around noon, wind picked up and it poured for maybe 5 minutes then it was over. Windy now but the sun is in and out. They are saying more rain around 6pm.

Early morning thunderstorm dropped 5/10” of rain. We lucked out…missed the winds of 90+ mph the weather guy reported for the city to our west. Town to our north had tree damage, possibly more. Hubby doesn’t usually like going downstairs just because a storm is forecast. This morning when rotation was reported east of the town to our west and southwest of the town to our north, he had no problem heading downstairs. It must have been really close to us, but as far as I know, there was no touchdown. I don’t handle spring/summer storms very well. If we get a warning, I wake him so he knows and then I go downstairs. Honeymoon must be over.

Warmer today, but much less humid, and almost no clouds in the sky, and a little breezy, so it was easy to work out there, as long as I stayed out of the sun!

Another overnight low in the upper 30s last night. Amazing. Todays' high was 76º with a light breeze and clear blue skies. No precipitation for weeks now and they have formally announced that wildfire season has started. It's early. May we all be spared.

We just had a thunderstorm with high winds. Had geraniums under the chestnut tree and a limb fell on each side of them. Miraculously none of them appear broken. Greenhouse was pretty much stripped of its plastic and peas torn from their trellis. Could have been much worse.

We had a storm blow thru here a little over an hour ago. Got dark, lots of thunder. Sirens went off, tornado phone alerts, the whole nine yards. Rained really hard for maybe 20 minutes, got a little wind and it was over. Sun is out and the sky is blue. emmsmommy, glad you didn't get more damage.

Yesterday evening up until around midnight we got hit fairly hard with wind, severe lightning, thunder, & a tornado warning/watch.
Two of my bonsai were blown off their little tables (& they're quite heavy!), although very luckily one landed right side up inside a large empty pot, while the other landed upside down atop another bushy potted plant. Thankfully, no broken branches or bonsai pots. Wind also knocked over my new large fig tree that's awaiting repotting &, oddly, tore my grapevine right off it's trellis, so while I managed to jerry-rig it back up, I'll have to do a better job when it's dryer out. The main vine doesn't look like it's broken, but I can't be sure - it could be broken inside. That would be a real shame. I've had that seedless Concord grapevine since 2017, & it was two years old then.
Finally, our deck is absolutely covered with White pine needles, & the White pine trees are a good hundred feet+ from the house. Mr. Breezy also said that there are dozens of little baby Osage oranges all over the yard. So something wicked definitely blew through here. We did lose power around 8:30 p.m. & it didn't return until around 2 a.m. this morning. The lightning was so constant & bright, I could clearly see the trees doubling over in the wind. I couldn't sleep at all for lying there listening for the "train sound" announcing an incoming twister. And after all that, we only ended up with 3/8" of rain. I'll have to take a stroll around later to see if we have any yard casualties.
No rain yet today, but it's still very grey & lightly breezy. Quite a bit cooler as well.

Nothing severe in this area yet, but the worst is coming later. Several small, heavy storms came through, but not strong winds, and only .27" rain so far. Only 73° now, and very humid.
