Received another 2.3 inches of rain overnight. We had three really heavy rains in to the wee hours…then I went to bed. So, yesterday afternoon until this morning was 3 inches. Where’s my boots?

Another dip into the 30s last night (low was 39º). This is so very not normal to have so many nights in the 30s in May. One or two, sure But it has been a consistent swing all month- 30s to 40s. High today was 77º and absolutely beautiful.

Weather map is colorful this morning. Almost the entire state under flood watch with several flood warning areas. Lots of storms popping up. We are at Level 4 out of 5 for severe weather today. I put all hanging pots on the ground last night in case of high winds. Apparently we had a severe storm warning during the night. Didn't hear a thing.

Another inch from overnight rain. Mumsey, do you not get weather warnings on your phone? We had two during the night, then one this morning saying travel not advised in our county, due to flooding. Currently under severe thunderstorm warning. Must be bad…weatherman on local station is sounding stressed.

binnylou I do get notifications on phone. The question is do I hear them. Usually not. Not hard of hearing. Just a deep sleeper. Always have been. Schools are closing early today with many community activities canceling for tonight. Future radar looks like we may be hiding between storms. Small towns around are sand bagging. No worries here unless one tries to get out of town.

Mumsey, with our main highway closed for laying of new concrete, our way out is north or north, then west. If we can get across the highway intersection, that puts us on low lying gravel, and still have to deal with the Skunk. We drove down to the highway this morning…fields are flooded. I don't know if the Skunk is out, or this mornings big rain hasn’t drained. Highway project has the road to town closed thru July. That’s just the first half. We may have to start shopping in Pella.

85/100” today. Split in two deliveries. The afternoon rain was a real humdinger. The old Hickory tree that was here when we moved here lost a few parts and pieces during that storm.

Whoa- last night dipped to 35º and then it climbed to 73º today. I'm starting to feel like it will never get warm enough, this year, to plant basil, tomatoes and chiles starts and seed summer crops.

Turns out we were hiding between storms. For all the weather man drama on TV, we got NOTHING! None of the high winds and just spits of rain. We had a couple severe storm warnings and a tornado warning, but turned out to be nothing. That's not to say some areas were not hit hard. Greenfield IA got a tornado with some deaths, the numbers have not been released yet. We were extremely lucky. As a precaution I took umbrellas on decks completely down, took a couple heavy blankets to the basement and camped out there watching weather on the computer. Better safe than sorry. DH would have been outside watching!
Sis lives in a flood zone and there will be minor flooding there, which means she has to move vehicles to higher ground and have furnace pulled from the basement.

We had severe weather warnings all evening. Lots of high winds. Not a drop of rain fell, but the wind was scary. Luckily no tree damage. I can see a few small branches down here and there.

This storm that hit on and around Yuma in Northeast Colorado was unbelievable. Last year this area recorded the largest hailstone in Colorado history, measuring over 5'' in diameter. When I wish for a little rain around here, you never know what else you might receive. I should just be content with watering using pond and city water. Hailstorm

Whoa! pondgardener , Did you get some of those 5 inchers in your yard, last year? Just watching tiny hail come down sends me into high anxiety for plant damage. I guess with such big hail you just surrender to what is and marvel.
