I just went out to check out the wind situation, and it doesn't seem to have let up at all! And already I see some things people have put out for the trash being "rearranged", so maybe I'll wait.

Last night I heard a bang after a big gust. My flagpole (off the porch post- not a big in ground one) had broken and the flag was on the ground. Rescued the flag but need a new pole. Happened a few years ago, also. Have to remember to take it in during gales.

Perfect day yesterday aside from wind, but from the South. Garden area is protected from that so got alot of leaves moved. Rain expected tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Windy and soft sunshine. A perfect day for drying laundry outside…sweatpants, jeans, shirts…all blown dry and pretty much wrinkle free shirts. Extra clothespins required.

It got to 68° here today, but it was still quite windy. Maybe that was a better thing, to help me dry off, since that pressure washing was getting me quite wet, at times! It helped dry it off, too, so it should be ready to put the stain on tomorrow, and the wind is forecast @ 5-10 mph, instead of 15-20, like today. And around 72°, for a high.

High was a beautiful sunny 63º day. Unfortunately, I took the day to do shopping and errands thinking I would work in the yard tomorrow. But tomorrow's forecast changed and it doesn't look like a fun day to work outside- predicted to get up to high 40s , cloudy and windy. We'll see what unfolds but maybe tomorrow will be a seed starting day.

51 degrees this morning with temp predicted to top out at 70. Allegedly we have severe storms coming our way after midnight tonight so I better get moving spreading lime on the freshly tilled garden……

I better get moving spreading lime Is your pH low, or do you spread lime because it is a tradition? I notice the lawn services here spread lime every spring. Tested the pH and the soil in our neighborhood is pretty much in the perfect range. I've lived in three different places in the neighborhood and also tested the soil for some of my friends, so it's not just me. Asked some of the workers if they test the soil. They don't. My lawn and garden do great without the lime.

gardendmpls, typically the soil in this area is a tad on the low side.

Woke up to a light layer of snow on the ground, was all melted by noon. Warmed up to 53º. Predicted to have more off/on snow and rain showers tomorrow. and through early next week. Outdoor work has come to a halt.

Temperatures are dropping - after those 70+ days, yesterday was down to 65°, today a couple degrees lower, but still above average, tomorrow down to average, about 52°, then 45° the first day of spring! The rest of the week below average, and one low was at 32°, so winter isn't leaving early.

After a week of temperatures in the 60’s and low 70’s, today’s high temperature of 43 with 20mph winds seems awfully darn cold. The cloudy skies add to the feeling of chill.
