Usually as it leaves you in New Jersey, it shows up here in New York. Was hoping it would be dry enough to till the new beds tomorrow, but now we'll just have to wait and see.

Another front came through after 12:30 am, and it was heavy, but went through fast, and only dropped .21". Looks like that will be it, but you never know!

We had a front move in during wee hrs of the morning that rocked my old butt out of bed and on my feet...brain wasn’t engaged but I was standing 🤣. You know that feeling.? Hubby got a new grill I’m going to say for Father’s Day...he’s happy as hell...bought a cover...spent more $$ than I did on The last 5.🙃

Blazing hot again today upper 90s with a 102º reading at the Santa Fe airport. We have been tying with record heat dates, so far. Then, out of practically nowhere, big black clouds moved in late afternoon and we had a 15 minute downpour that yielded 3/10 inch of the wet stuff and cooled things way down. In fact I had goose bumples.

I emptied the makeshift rain gauge and we received nearly six inches of rain in the past week. My parents had some water in their house when the culvert at the bottom of the ravine stopped up but thankfully their floors are concrete. Others around the state weren't so lucky as one area received over five inches in just a few hours. Our trip to the university hospital revealed several areas that had flooded due to the fact that the storm drains couldn't handle the massive amount of rain in a short period of time. The good news is that I should be able to fill the rain barrel completely up this week.

After all the hoopla about severe storms, etc, etc, we got zilch! Guess I'll be watering this morning.

Chance of rain/storms passed us by last night. Brother to the south reported 2 1/4 inches. His 173 tomato plants won’t need watering today.

Was supposed to rain hard here yesterday, and I heard a lot of thunder nearby, but no rain at all. Cooled off some, but it was still, and still is muggy.

Got a good 1" rain with the passing tropical system. All is well in the garden. Summer solstice at 11:32 pm tonight, the longest day and shortest night of the year. It's "summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime!"
