Started raining yesterday afternoon ans it's been raining on and off since. Not hard just kind of a drizzle. Stopped now but kind of chilly out there now.

Getting some more rain today, and again it's unrelated to Hurricane Isaias, which is predicted to dump about 6 inches here tomorrow.
I predict that some of my lettuce will drown, and that tomatos will split.

Just had a thunderstorm with very high winds. Trying to give us practice for tomorrow, I guess.

Picture perfect fall-like days. Windows in the house open. But we need RAIN! Any rain dancers out there? It barely hit 70 yesterday.

Isaias wasn't too bad. Trashed yard and porch and knocked over tomato cages -- easy repairs. The garlic chives enjoyed it and are putting up flower stalks.

Send me a few empty buckets... I can provide for you right now, some liquid from the sky... I'm sure that so can pepperhead212 ... Isaias is right over our heads... Multiple tornado warnings going on right now... It is teeming out there...

2.54" by 10:30; the hardest seemed around 9:45, then it let up. The hardest to come! Not that much wind - I didn't put my trash out because I figured I didn't want to be chasing after my cans in this weather, but nothing seems to be blowing around. No working in the garden today!
We were very dry here - we were told that July was about average for rainfall, but that's because of that 4.73" rainfall in a single day! That creek a block and a half from me, that is usually filling the riverbed to about 50-60 feet wide, was down to about 3 feet wide. I'm surprised that I haven't seen more creatures in the garden, looking for water!

Drier than a popcorn fart here! I see lots of 1/2” cracks in the ground everywhere.

It was supposed to hit 103°F today, but due to the fires in California we had sort of a hazy shade over the valley and it never got above 98°F. Under the circumstances I think I would have preferred the 103°F.
One thing's for certain, we could sure use some rain. Haven't had a drop since the first week of May and things are getting a bit on the dry side around here.

We got damaging winds here. 600,00 out of power...SO many trees and wires down...and the generator won’t start. Just had it worked on. It’s going to be days without power. Electric power guys were out but-tree removal was no where ...just having my first cup of coffee 😁.

Six inches? I cannot even imagine that much rain. Here if we get an inch that is highly unusual.

It rained a good 6" here yesterday... That's enough for now...Thank you very much, Hurricane Isaias...

claude, sorry to learn about the hurricane damage, especially the power outage with a nonworking generator.
