Hmmm... Should I blame it on autocorrect, poor eyesight, too small keyboard on phone, or a combination of all? Definitely autocorrect. I once sent an official company email in which Microsoft changed "conclusion" to "contusion". I forget the exact words, but they were something like that. So I feel your

Back when I was still employed, a message was sent from the corporate office, with an apology at the end. It read โ sorry for the incontinenceโ when the word should have been โinconvenience โ. That message went out to all dept heads/management, company wide.

Our village community is in an uproar. Been going on for the past 2 weeks. There is a huge resort between the outskirts of the village and Santa Fe. Managed by Auberge Resorts (luxury hotels) who claim to be environmentally conscious and respectful of the local communities. The owner of the resort is Juniper Capital, based in Arizona
Very long story , short, a couple of weeks ago it was discovered by a local that they (the Resort, EPA, NM Environmental Dept , Santa Fe County, were slipping through a permit to allow the resort (Bishops Lodge) to build a new treatment plant. That's good. The old one is a whole other story. In the plan is to dump treated effluent into the Tesuqiue Creek-- a very clean, maybe pristine, waterway. (we are in the process of seeing if that can be officially declared)-- That's not good. That would affect all of our wells downstream. EPA standards require only certain (mostly) biologicals to be removed to be considered clean and acceptable. Pharmaceuticals and PFAS (forever chemicals) are not removed. They almost got away with it, without public comment. Ha! This community mobilized. We have been busy beavers these past 10 days.. Email list,. facebook page created, meetings large and small, an anonymous wealthy villager has offered to pay all legal fees to retain an attorney. Last night there were close to 200 attending the sales job the Lodge put on. Boy did they get an earful.
So I have dusted off my protester shoes. Will participate in today's protest. This makes 3 since this past Saturday! We are starting at the historic plaza in Santa Fe and walking over to the county building where the commissioners are meeting. Never underestimate the power of Boomers, - and retired ones at that. (we have the time and the experiences and history) Not to say young people aren't involved. They are. Us boomers just have more free time to do certain things.

In order to talk, it helps to have all the facts straight and alternative ideas, if possible. Do they have an alternative place for the effluent? What does the old plant do with it? Does the resort's water supply have PFA's. Usually hear of them in association with industrial manufacturing plants, not hotels. How are pharmaceuticals removed from drinking water? The more you know, the easier it is to work with people. Make sure to listen to what they say and be able to counter or agree with each item or idea. Know your stuff. Makes it easier to work with people and get the best solution, rather than just have screaming matches.

Oh definitely gardendmpls , We are on it. No screaming matches. All your questions and more have been presented. And when they get slippery with the answers and facts, we get firm. We are a well informed community. This is an interesting collection of people in this little community: multi generation families, native pueblo peoples, anglos, hispanics. Strong. Highly educated, laborers, and everything in-between. We all come together for various occasions- fun and difficult ones. There is a lot of money in this little valley and so there are the resources needed . We have already created committees and sub committees We have already sat at the table with the lodge including our acequia commissioners and tribal elders.

Slept in until 8:00 yesterday and immediately went to work on wrestling the two cattle panels into place. One was a little wonky and took brute force to straighten it a bit but now I have an 8' long arched trellis in the new garden addition. Thankfully the mulch pile is only a few feet away as I hauled five garbage cans full to cover the exposed cardboard. Left about a 1' area clear around the bottom of the panels and may add a brick border to keep the soil contained a bit until the mulch breaks down some more. Took lots of breaks, so it became an all day job.
So far this morning I've pulled weeds along the inside of the fence separating the garden and the addition. The layers of mulch made it fairly easy but the outside is another story. 3/4 of the way through and called it quits because it was just getting too hot. Now it's cloudy and keeping my fingers crossed that we actually get some of the predicted rain.

Managed to get some things done with my new garden helper. She is a teacher and wants to learn gardening, so I am paying her some and she will get to take some produce home. This week she helped Sunday through Wednesday, and it was good she was there, as I was suddenly hit with vertigo. She helped me sit on the ground and go inside for ice water. Had another attack in the evening. Each was only for a few minutes. Then came the horrible one at 4 in the morning when I had to use the restroom. After 10 minutes of waiting for it to disappear, I gave up, and with closed eyes navigated from the bookshelf to the door of my room, my brother's doorway, a hall closet door, the bathroom door, towel bar, sink and finally the grab bar for the commode. Never noticed before how nicely spaced my handholds were. Called my brother's aide to help me back to bed and eventually spun to sleep. DIL drove me to the doctor the next afternoon. Appears to be viral. Haven't had another spinning attack but feeling kind of wonky. I was given pills and took one before going to bed. It has a lot of side effects, including dizziness. Also makes you sleepy, so it says not to drive, as if I would drive anywhere with everything spinning around. Slept nine and a half hours. The aide got my brother washed, dressed and on his van. Will save the rest of the pills in case I have trouble sleeping sometime.
Since I am grounded, I have been going out every day, with and without my helper. Have two beds covered with compost and mulch, garlic pulled, some vines cut down, potatoes planted, weeds pulled and chickens fed and watered. Seeing progress and may actually get plants in the ground in time to produce a harvest.

I ordered some organza drawstring bags, sizes 6โ x 8โ, and 8โ x 12โ. They arrived today by way of Amazon. I doubt that I would have found them in our shopping area. I plan to collect garlic seed. I planted some Music bulbils two years ago and they have set seed, and, when cutting scapes from this yearโs crop, I missed one, so Iโll put a bag over it as well.
Also took a well used bar of Irish Spring, quartered it, dropped a piece in each of 4 bags and tied the bags to stakes above my dahlias. Hoping the deer know that they are supposed to be repelled by Irish Spring.
And, should I ever get Dahlia bud/bloom,Iโll slip a bag over the opening bud to keep out the earwigs.

gardendmpls, Oh no! So sorry this is happening to you. As a fellow Vertigo sufferer I know just how devastating this can be. Sounds like you have some good help available. Managed to ward off an attack with some Gravol and a couch nap this week. Wish they could figure out what causes Vertigo-there are so many theories. Take care and try to rest as much as possible-don't rush things.

8:30am and I already sweated through a t-shirt painting a back room. It's a room that I really don't need for anything, but the previous owner added it on at some point.
I need to inspect the damage from last night's microburst that came through. I know that the main stem of one tomato plant was broken, and an arm of a shade umbrella was broken as well.

gardendmpls, madamezil, within the past year, I was having really bad spells of Vertigo. During a routine dr. visit, he checked my ears and said that I had fluid in my right ear. Gave me a script to help clear it, and it did. Most recent visit, mild vertigo had returned, doc confirmed fluid in my ear, and to try the โpopular โ allergy OTC med. I only took one, went to bed, and the world wasnโt spinning come morning.

Wish they could figure out what causes Vertigo-there are so many theories. There are several causes. The main one is a common virus that you have had before, like a cold or flu, that start up near the inner ear or elsewhere in the body (like shingles is related to chicken pox). It inflames the vestibular nerve or the one that runs near the labyrinth. Another is Meniere's disease, caused by fluid buildup in the inner ear. There is also BPPV, which happens when tiny particles of calcium shift into the inner ear. This one is treated by a series of positional movements that move the particles around and out of the canal and into a chamber of the inner ear. Vertigo can also be caused by medication, migraines, brain damage, tumors or in my sister's case claustrophobia and acrophobia causing an anxiety attack while she was in the Washington Monument. She told me she crawled over to the elevator and waited what seemed like ages for it to show up and carry her out of there.

as I was suddenly hit with vertigo. Are we catching this from each other over the internet???? For the last 3-4 weeks I slowly started to have slightly blurred vision & episodes of dizziness - two of which had me fall & end up unconscious for less than a minute. Alway-in-denial as I am, I attributed it to a delay in having an eye exam, & finally had an appt. with my eye guy last Thursday. He was concerned enough to send me to the ER, where I spent all day Thursday, overnight & into Friday, having what seemed like every test imaginable - multiple bloodwork up the wazoo, neuro tests, CAT scan, MRI, x-ray - you name it, I had it. With poor Mr. Breezy at my side, sitting/sleeping in an upright chair. Am still getting test results back, but so far all they've eliminated is a stroke (which is what the eye guy thought I had had or was having). Neuro is claiming it's Cardio; Cardio is claiming its Neuro; & I just want it to go away. No one mentioned anything inner ear. But we shall shoulder on.

When in doubt, check it out. Vertigo can also be caused by a-fib.

breezygardener, Wow! That sounds exactly like what I went through except the ambulance ride to the ER-couldn't stand up to make it to the car. Doc finally had me doing some manouevers to reposition the "crystals" in my inner ear. However, I am so stiff with arthritis, it wasn't really a successful endeavour. Eye doc finally settled on ocular migraines, neurologist gave it a rousing not sure, but not a stroke. Anyhow I will get some decongestant to have on hand. That and have DH stationed next to the potty with a big bowl.
