mulched what was there - the area with nothing is covering what was left of the fall leaves not used as much elsewhere, half rotted twigs, kitchen compostables, etc. just covered it up for looks and hopefully to speed the breakdown..... I call this my radish factory! really putting out the flowers and seed pods! some spinach in there going to seed too if you can see it... My outdoor cukes....one type didn't come through, and I don't know which one! I think the 3 there are pickles, but I guess I'll see...not sure if I should replant to other one or not.

Are those conventional radishes that have gone to seed, or are they rat's tail radishes? The variety of rat's tail radishes that I grow have purple flowers.

Looks like you worked hard ...good work. Your efforts will pay off. I see you use tomato cages the way I do....I have used them for broccoli and peppers as well. Is that cucumber you are using it for? Haven't done that yet!

these were volunteer radish - some kind of edible one
yes - using the tom cage for the cukes, and bamboo poles for the toms.
