Isn't that wonderful, getting all of those things you've grown? Of course, the best part is eating it. ;)

looks great!
Are you having the first of your artichokes tonight? How will you fix? Do you do a dipping sauce?

That is so great! What are preparing for tonight?? Lots of choices. Those are green beans in there? What kind are they, if so?

Well I planned to grill some chicken, steam the artichokes and sauté the Brussels sprouts in olive oil. A small tomato salad would complete the meal.
BUT - dinner got delayed by almost 3 hours due to the chicken project (see chicken chat). I picked up the fertile eggs but then Little White needed to have her space built in to keep the other hens out, then I decided to give the coop a good cleaning because it was stinky. All of the debris had to be taken to the compost pile. One thing led to another and it was almost 8 pm and we were starving.
So I cooked the chicken breasts in a grill pan on my stove instead of outside on the grill and we had sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese and Motts applesauce. Not exactly what I planned but it was pretty good anyway. The green beans are Haricots Vert which are the only green beans I ever grow anymore since I discovered them. They are super tender and flavorful and we like the skinny beans. The yellow ones are skinny like the green ones but are called Roquencourt.
I will steam the artichokes and we use melted butter for dipping. I cooked the first one I picked last week and it was really good. I still can't believe that I am picking artichokes. I love a challenge.
I think that I will make some zucchini pickles tomorrow from one of those zukes.

Is that light shining from the camera? Probably, it was a flash pic.
