When I had my yellow lab we used to call him "pepper breath" because he ate all the peppers off the plants. Hot or not he didn't care. I tried fencing the area (it was already in his fenced back yard) and he just ran right through the chicken wire like it wasn't there to get to the peppers.

Yes, Red, that's what they do. Shake the apple tree! Dad doesn't however. He just hand picks every single one, while standing on his riding mower seat or ricketty ladder! I give him hell about that all the time. For cripes sake, 84 yrs old!
