It's that time of year (or for some, almost that time) to take good care outdoors and be careful of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Limit your time outside when called for, and ALWAYS hydrate, before, during, and after!!!

Thanks for the reminder, Wheel. I tend to forget to stop for some liquids while out there.
96 today and predicted 98 tomorrow. Suppose to be back to normal at upper 80s by Tuesday.

I was thinking the same thing, Dave. And the humidity so far this year has been way more brutal than in the past this early I think...
And you are absolutely right, Wheel! I was out hammering all the tomato and eggplant stakes today...got the heart rate going well...it was hot and very humid...the dew point was 73...it was like breathing soup...and even though I was drinking lots of water often...I made myself stop a couple times...went inside to cool down for a few minutes and came out feeling much better and refreshed.
I never work in the yard without my water cooler...never.

Wow! Well here at 5000 ft elevation in the valley, we don't get heat extremes like that. We have had some upper 80's temps but no 90's yet this season. The prediction is for clear skies and temps in the 90's coming up the next ten days. Yep, garden early morning, and do drink liquids. Have a great garden!
Just went out and turned the water on the garden. At 8:45 AM it is 68 degrees.

I just hope this heat doesn't cause my (and your) tomato blossoms to start dropping. This is usually something that happens here in late July, not June! Our forecast high of 96° for Tues. is 2° higher than our high of last summer, which was very mild, for a change.

wear a wide brimmed hat and have a shady spot in sight to take a break with a breeze is a bonus - I take 2 bottles of water to the garden + some kind of meal bar

The humidity here is a killer right now. I just hate it.
