As I had reported, I think, on the weather thread - we have had so much rain it has been pooling in spots. our street was a stream for a day or so. And what did I see in the garden today - a dragon fly!
I saw it, then didn't, then did, then didn't, till I wondered if it was a single individual or if some were hatched nearby?
Also - saw the lovely black with blue swallowtail type butterfly. We have loads and loads of monarchs - I never even saw the swallowtail till I started growing parsley.
You seeing anything of interest out there?
I have loads of vespids but I can't tell you if bee/wasp/whatnot....

seeing anything of interest You might want to look at this thread about butterflies. And you might look up the Anise Swallowtail to see if one shows up at your parsley. Pretty cool stuff.

We do see a lot of dragon flies here. Lots of swamp land along the river but not on our property. I did have a huge turtle in my yard the other day. Don't know where it came from or where it went. There is a pond on the property next to us but it is quite a way aways. It wandered into the woods headed that way. That was a little strange to see.

Lots of swamp land along the river but not on our property. I'm about 7-8 miles from the lakefront, 3-4 miles from the river. I rarely see dragonflies around here so it was a treat.

I'm not a turtle expert, but DH said it was. If I ever find my camera I can try to post a picture I took.

Snappers are good eating! They are pretty ugly, not colorful at all, just brown and can get really big.
