Planted the purchased seed and some I saved from my own plants last year. If they all germinate, mom will have quite a selection to choose from. All but two I overwintered have perked up since moving to the dining room under the lights. Figured I'd give them a couple of weeks and then take cuttings from all of them. After that they'll get repotted and will probably remain in the house. Nothing like blooming geraniums to brighten a dreary day.

My mom used to overwinter her geraniums all the time - just on windowsills - so I tried it myself this year with two nice large ones I have in containers - one a flaming neon orange, the other a flaming neon magenta/pink. So far, so good.

I have one on my windowsill that my granddaughter gave me for Mother's Day 3 years ago. Not blooming right now, but has 2 clusters of buds.

Mine haven't done any blooming indoors, but then I'm just concerned with keeping them alive until it's warm enough for them to return to the great outdoors - lol!

Mine bloom all winter. The pot sits on a south windowsill.

Woohoo! 100% germination on one variety of purchased seeds but the ivy-leaved ones only have one sprout so far. Nothing from the saved seeds yet. Could probably take cuttings from a few of the overwintered ones now but a few others need a bit more time.
I overwintered red and white ones the year kiddo was on remote learning and had lots of time to lavish on them. They bloomed profusely. I do have two of my current ones blooming even though they've been treated with utter neglect the last few months.

Well I’m hoping mine also survive on neglect..I have a boatload of them..some in pots, some without soil. We shall see.

Today I bought myself a fiddle leaf fig at Aldi and it was marked down to $10. Just love that plant. It was my first live plant in our first apartment. I’m off to see how many geraniums I can revive….

Overwintered geraniums are putting on a show right now. Cuttings have been slow to root probably because they were older stems but one variety has rooted, been potted up and are about ready to move up to a bigger pot. Seedlings are doing great.

Well, I never did get to the geraniums…took my daily walk w my sis slipped on black ice and broke my fibula…so I’m on crutches and a boot. I had walked right behind my sister and when I knew it was inevitable my mind screamed “tuck and roll tuck and roll!” Thankfully no broken wrists. Heavy sigh. This week I’ve kept myself in bed and discomfort is much less. Damn I was lucky !

claude, hoping for a quick mend. Sorry for your situation, but yes, you are lucky. Find some flower stickers for your crutches.

Seed of three more geranium varieties planted and two more cuttings potted up. A few of the mother plants have grown enough that I can take some new cuttings, especially one of the seed-grown varieties I gave mom last year which is a coral/pink frosted with white. Mom actually asked me the other day if I would have enough geraniums for her or if I was intending to sell them all. I reassured her that she had first pick of as many as she wanted and any left after I pick what I want will be shared with a few gardening neighbors and if there's any left, I might sell a few.

First planted seedlings and cuttings are rewarding me with blooms! A little disappointed in the Fancy Pants ivy geraniums as seven of the eight that have bloomed so far are the same color. Fingers crossed that the remaining four will reveal something different.
New geranium seedlings all had 90% germination! My goal is to keep one of every color over the winter and start cuttings earlier next year.
